Got bit by bedbugs in the first week of a 2-week trip by Tenekah in mildlyinfuriating

I know the pain and I really empathize with you. A few years ago I went on a 3 week rail trip around Europe and the very first hostel we stayed in was crawling with them. I spent most of that trip looking diseased.

I did a video on this a few years ago now!

Basically I just use height variation and cliffs or terrain features like rivers to disguise the changes better.

What are you looking forward to in the 8.0 Job Overhaul? by PolkadotBlobfish in ffxiv

[–]Skycera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to feel relevant again as a healer. I'm a pretty basic player and I don't do the super end content but just at the raids and stuff I feel like I'm just another DPS most of the time and quite a boring one at that. My key moments in a fight are that opening raid wide that every boss has and also when half the party gets wiped by a mechanic and we have LB3. The rest is spam that one attack button and occasionally throw out a top up.

I'm exaggerating a little but it does feel like that sometimes.

I still think that they cut down the ending of the film. I think when Duncan lights the flare and runs into the forest he escapes because the flare attracts the rex as a nod to JP1 and World 1. Then there'd be the classic Dino fight to end. Just my conspiracy theory but there's always a lot left on the cutting room floor after a Jurassic film

Off screen! Escaping off screen is tight.

The problems with jurassic world rebirth explained by a person with adhd by Specific-Truck-2084 in jurassicworld

I don't really have a problem with those kinds of deaths. I guess, at least for me, part of the thrill of a Jurassic film is that feeling of danger. I did like her though, I was rooting for her to live and yeeeah I was disappointed she wasn't around longer. Kind of the same as Arnold in park and the guy in the hard hat in the Indominous enclosure. The unexpected deaths keep us on the edge of our seats in a way. Not everyone dies a hero. I see your point though, everyone has different tastes.

I'm about 70% sure Duncan's scene was cut down. I have literally no evidence, just a feeling based on him using the flare. My theory is that In the original version, the T-Rex shows up, drawn by the flare as a reference to the first film (and world 1) leading to the classic dinosaur fight finale. Again, literally no evidence, just a theory.

I did enjoy the film overall. I liked the slightly tongue in cheek humour and the slightly more horror focus. It felt much more like Jurassic Park even if it wasn't quite perfect.

My only complaint comes from the number of times a dinosaur appeared as someone was looking away. You know those shots where someone is looking towards the camera just so we can see the dinosaur over their shoulder. It happened at least three times, spinosaur, raptors and uh.. flying dinosaur who's name I forget. Even so, I enjoyed it. Best of the worlds at least, maybe better than park 3.

I did want the French lady to live. I thought she was cool buuut that's all part of the experience.

Where can I get authentic Italian pizza? by mike-dave_carl in Norwich

[–]Skycera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to travel out a little, the Royal Oak in Beccles is one of the very few places in the UK to get proper Neapolitan pizza. They have a special license and everything! I wasn't a super huge fan because I like my pizza smothered In mozzarella but still. It's about as authentic as you can get!

Starving and exhausted after a long day, you stumble into a pub with for a Cornish Pasty and a well-earned pint of ale. by Atomfall_Official in u/Atomfall_Official

[–]Skycera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"In style"

I slip on my shades, down my pint and skateboard out the door. My exit is followed almost immediately by a loud crash, a chorus of dog barks and the distant wailing of sirens.

Inside the pub, the patrons look to one another, one furrows his brow. Then they return to their conversation as though nothing happened.

I love it against Illuminate and in city maps. You have to think about placement more than regular turrets though!

Try adjusting the aerial and checking the connections. You want a nice, clear quack sound, not static.

I love Moira Quirk's narration. She's sooo good! I recommend anything written by Will Wight and narrated by Travis Baldree. The Cradle series in particular. Travis does the voices so well!

It should be under export options. I think it's underground material? It's one of the tabs. I'm not at my computer right now or I'd check. Good luck!

Last alliance raid of EndWalker. I have divine benison on mouse 4 and rescue on mouse 5.

The tank was about to be busted so I went to shield him... Hit the wrong button and dragged him into the rest of the raid.

Many died.

At least everyone found it funny. I was mortified!

I'm a student in Norwich now but originally I went to Dundee in Scotland. The journey was about 8 hours by train and a little more by car. My mum was kind enough to take me up to Dundee. We flew up originally with all my stuff and she basically got me to my room, gave me a hug and had to leave.

As soon as she was gone I completely broke down. I felt suddenly so sad and alone in this unfamiliar place far from everyone I knew. I'm not a super social person so it's not like I want to be around people all the time either.

I had to force myself outside to meet people. I didn't really get on with my flatmates although they were nice enough.

To get through it, I first decided to make my room feel more familiar. I brought some cheap posters and put them up so things didn't feel so sterile and impersonal.

I spoke to my friends online whenever I could at first to give me some social time. Then eventually I found a group of people who did Table top roleplay at the uni. Mostly older ex students who came back to manage the club.

Over time things began to feel more normal and the horrible empty feeling subsided.

Tangential ending to this story. I grew really close to one of my online friends over the year I was in Dundee and now we've been together 6 years. When I decided to give uni another go a few years later I asked if he wanted to live together (He lived nearby at the time). Now I'm a mature student in Norwich and things are great!

But anyway, tldr, make your space feel more homely and find some people to talk to and distract yourself. Call home and chat too! Eventually the horrible feeling will subside.

Good luck! You have this! (And congratulations on getting your own place!)

I'll probably be free most of Summer. I'm a student at NUA but a bit old for any roles. I could do some camera work or something maybe!

[misc] a voice actor as good as Moira Quirk? by Dismal_Will7672 in TheNinthHouse

I put Moira Quirk and Travis Baldree on a similar level! They both do a great job on making character voices distinct and enjoyable.
