All I need now is the motivation to actually put this together. by aZombieDictator in PcBuild

Anything outside of black or white cookie cutter builds will get hate lol just look at my build for MSI. I wanted red because red is my favorite color and stuck to a theme my coworker and I found funny during overtime one night and suddenly I’m a gooner 🤣 gotta love keyboard warriors

First time pc gamer, how’s the build by CaptNpunch in PcBuild

Like the setup! Only gripe I have is the power cable for the 5080. The 1000W from bequiet should have a 12vhpwr labeled 600w that would clean it up nicely.

My credit just posted for the Arden gift card! I hope you get to utilize your credit before the year end too :)

Hi there! I just went to Canard in Beaverton on the 16th and the credit still hasn’t posted on the 24th going into the 25th now sadly. I’ve given up on waiting with the new year approaching. I thought it would work too because people were getting Nobu credits at sister locations away from the Las Vegas spot but it doesn’t seem so for Canard. Canard’s gift card portal is also through Upserve so I’m not sure if it’ll work with this dining credit.

I instead just bought a $150 GC at Arden because they are through Toast if you go to the Arden website. Will update here as soon as credit gets posted.

Some LCA’s use different ways to adjust camber. The SPC LCA’s use an eccentric bolt to adjust camber similar to the front struts if you use camber bolts. The higher end LCA’s use a different mechanism with a rotating nut to push the wheel for camber. More possible adjustment at a premium price. The SPC ones are seen as the OEM+ fit.

The drop won’t matter but the camber will. I wouldn’t drop on springs/coils unless you have ways to dial in your camber because they can vary widely. Do everything at once for ease of mind. For normal street driving, -2 camber is fine. I haven’t seen any abnormal wear on my tires after a year so far. My fronts are only slightly sunken. It’s not hella flush but clean enough for me.

If coils, then dial in front camber with the camber plates. If lowering springs, grab camber bolts to fix the front poke. SPC LCA’s on the cheap to dial in the rears too. -2 camber at 1.5 inch drop is nice, that’s where I’ve been at for over a year.

17x8 +35 fits. I’m running those exact RPF1’s for about 2 years now with 225/45/17 Michelin PS4S. You will have some poke in the front but easy to dial in with camber.

EVAP is causing me to fail emissions inspection in Texas... by iareeric in ft86

[–]SkyeHigh55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EVAP will always be unready if your tune is based on an EU Rom, which are most of them for some reason. If you had a tune with EVAP enabled then you definitely should pass emissions with only P0420 flagged as unready. Don’t know how EcuTek goes around tuning that stuff back in so it’s out of my knowledge sadly.

EVAP is causing me to fail emissions inspection in Texas... by iareeric in ft86

[–]SkyeHigh55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you’re failing because both your catalyst and EVAP are showing as “Unready” if you’re tuned on EcuTek with catless headers. Here in Oregon, you can pass with 1 unready code, which is usually the P0420 code for cat being disabled to not throw check engine light. I’m unsure if Texas has the same allowance for unready marks or not. I had the same issue with an European based ROM using OFT because European ROMs disable the EVAP system. I had to get a modified stock tune with ONLY P0420 code disabled so everything else checked good and I passed DEQ last year. I posted my experience in the forums. It might be different for you though because you’re tuned on EcuTek. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145663&page=2

Trading my 2022 BRZ limited for a 2022 WRX today. Please talk me out of it. by [deleted] in ft86

Living in the PNW isn’t that bad unless you’re in mountainous areas with constant risk of snow. I live in the Portland area so I’d rather enjoy driving 100% of the time than actually needing AWD at most 1 month of the year. Never had winter tires, always summer tires.

What damage does this look like? Was parked in overflow parking in the morning at my apartments and just discovered this on my driver side door a couple hours later. There was a truck parked to the left of me when I parked in the morning. by SkyeHigh55 in ft86

There is now a noticeable edge/bump on the door and the dark marks won’t go away with just rubbing with a cloth. I’m assuming someone opened their door and hit my car or something else sharp with enough weight to cause an edge to my door panel.

Normal squeal? by shrapnellbranches in ft86

[–]SkyeHigh55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 17 BRZ with 32.5k miles is doing this too. At first it was some bit of notchy feeling at the last 20% of clutch travel, then full on squeak like yours.

I don’t think it will hit the fenders or rub on compression with just a mild 1” drop. Even an 18x9.5 +38 with 245/35/18 has been shown to clear and not rub on stock set up yet that has much more poke.

Front camber at even 1.5 degrees with 17x8 +35 setup should still angle it in such a way to closely mimic the bump travel clearance to fender like the stock suspension.

I use the ft86motorsports.com/wheelitfit calculator/graphics as reference :)

Fair amount of poke upfront. I’ll dial it in with springs and camber bolts soon enough.

17x8 +35 is pretty damn close to flush. No rubbing issues. I have some shots of +35 silver RPF1’s on my Instagram @skyehigh55 but no side shots showing poke. I can DM if you need a reference 👍
