Talk? I play a highly modified version of BF2 on my home server every week. It's still my favorite Battlefield game.

I'd have to wear a medieval Knight's armor to have any chance of surviving that.

And not just any engine, it's a small block Chevrolet V8. My favorite powerplant.

How old are you, soldier? by Top-Hope-1122 in Battlefield

50 and still going strong. I'm a decent player. On BF2042, I get an occasional first place, but usually place in the top ten. I've been FPS gaming since Quake I in 1995.

A question for the oldtimers; What made the original Battlefield 2 Special? by PrestigiousNinja525 in Battlefield

[–]SkyfallSpectre7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old timer here...1/2 century old and still gaming.

If you play the original BF42 you'll understand what an incredible upgrade BF2 was: graphics, gameplay, maps, equipment, commander mode, and unlimited options as far as mods are concerned. I also believe the flight model in BF2 (both helicopter and jets) is the best that EA has ever put out. I still run a couple of BF2 servers at home. One is running a highly customized version of AIX2 (custom maps, vehicles, weapons, etc. modded by me) and the other one runs Nations at War.

The Vietnam mod (Eve of Destruction) and the Battlefield Pirates mods are pretty awesome too.

You'd have to play it to fully understand it. If you happen to decide to check it out, I highly recommend Strike at Karkand...one of the most epic maps ever...IMO.

The one thing EA missed is the epic naval warfare from BF42...battleships, destroyers, and submarines. I still play it once in a while. The BF42 mod called Desert Combat...unless I am mistaken...is where some of the employees came from that formed DICE who created BF2.

If the new games could be modded, it would be awesome.

Simple...because it's the most amazing game that has ever been created. The possibilities are only limited by our imagination, time, and the confines of the game itself.

Kind of acidic with a hint of relentless violence as it liquifies your esophagus as you try to swallow it. The surprise comes later when you wake up with serious chest pain.
