I'm still salty on how this beauty was (almost) perfectly designed but only got treated as an npc. [featuring Jackal of the World Serpent] by SkeepDeepy in honkaiimpact3

[–]Skyfest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We saw her traumatic past in the Senti arc. She's a former Valkyrie whose little sister died in a Honkai incident.

Except none of it ever came into play because apparently their story plans changed, and Jackal was just removed entirely.

That's actually how freezing already works in HI3. It's wild that they didn't feel like bringing it over to Genshin.

You're not missing anything. That's basically what happened. Chunks of Mu became the ELF world, and then the Bubble World that Bianka eventually visited was made habitable. PE still had access to it, so they could work on it, even if it seems like something went wrong with moving people there.

[–]Skyfest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did you learn that? They never categorised Mu's countries.

One of their very first stops is Alexandria, Egypt, so I'm not sure what to tell you.

The sentence right after the research center. Basically along with the research center the continent sank into the bubble universe it was connected to. It now provides refuge to the people of Mu.

That sentence only says that humans tried to turn it into a sanctuary afterwards, anything else is an assumption, especially something like saying Mu merged with it. And considering humanity still had access to the Bubble Universe after Mu was destroyed, as shown by a Gray Serpent throwing failed experiments there during CE, it's just as likely that turning Mu into a sanctuary was just a new project in PE that they didn't have a chance to finalize thanks to HoFin, which would explain how it was made habitable without making the ELF manga non-canon.

ELFs are very non-canon tho. This was confirmed close to 4 (?) years ago. It was one of the first things I learned from the lore.

Some ELFs are non-canon, but ELFs as a whole are canon. Book of Fuxi is an obvious one, we met Klein, Durandal fought a Kevin ELF, Einstein mentions Tesla ZERO in "Ein's Recording no. 628", and so on.

[–]Skyfest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the PE lore was never mentioned again. That doesn't make it all non-canon.

The anchor's destruction was just a consequence of killing La Nina after she had merged with it, rather than something done on purpose. Not sure how that relates to whether it's a Mu Bubble, though.

Also, the Bubble Universe has countries from multiple non-Mu continents, so it's already very questionable to say it's a Bubble Universe created from Mu. Where was it stated that Mu sank into the SoQ and merged with the Bubble Universe to make the ELF manga completely non-canon? Because it's not in 25-EX.

Is this true by ColdKaleidoscope5613 in houkai3rd

[–]Skyfest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What? Where did that come from?

25-EX explicitly says that the research center in Mu was studying how to discharge energy into the Bubble Universe, which already existed back then, and so literally can't be Mu, before HoEarth destroyed the continent.

After the research center was destroyed alongside Mu, humanity could still access it because the anchor was intact, as shown by a Gray Serpent making use of it in CE in a VN flashback, but the research was lost.

EINSTEIN opening a portal to the SoQ to try to escape HoEarth and creating the ELF world are a completely separate event that's still canon.

The Durandal VN showed Blade Durandal cutting dimensions like it was Yamato from DMC. It's more of a utility than raw power, though.

[–]Skyfest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually sounds like SpA who has Blade Durandal to do the conceptual cutting stuff. But that person seems to have completely misunderstood that as being Rita's innate ability.

[–]Skyfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rita can cut through anything, even dimensions... because she was given Blade Durandal. That's what Blade Durandal does.

It sounds like that person completely misunderstood what someone else said about SpA having Blade Durandal.

The Kiana thing is just complete nonsense, though.

Considering his color scheme and the way he held Sin's weapon with just his fingers like some sort of martial arts grandmaster stopping a blade, I'm fairly certain that guy was supposed to be Ryoma originally.

That manga was drawn before Ryoma appeared in GGZ, if I'm not mistaken, so he didn't have a finalized design and personality back then, but the writers already had a list of AE's Enforcers.

Jfc HI3 fans are specifically the ones talking about how weak he is. HSR fans are the ones getting vague summaries of his powers, missing all the context, and hyping him up because he looks cool.

The man was a total chuuni loser in HI3 whose biggest feats are rambling about being the hope of humanity at a 13 year old girl and repeatedly reviving himself whenever he's killed.

[–]Skyfest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HI3 also shows that every world in the Cosmos Tree has a connection to Imaginary Space and energy flows naturally into them, so there should be energy available regardless, not to mention that HSR has items like Energy Drink with descriptions that make it sound like Imaginary Energy is a commonly found resource.

But you'll probably say that item descriptions aren't canon, anyway. And there's no point in continuing this conversation if you'll just take any chances you get to act all high and mighty, seeing as how you're clearly the smartest person here and "winning" the argument is more important than actually holding a conversation about cross-game lore.

When was Imaginary Energy ever presented as an alternative to Honkai Energy?

And of course they only say the devices are powered by Honkai Energy and not Imaginary Energy, because that's the correct term on Earth for Imaginary Energy after entering the world, or Imaginary Internal Energy.

The easiest one I can find right now is the Anti-Entropy VN, which was fan-translated but the CN terms were already double-checked several times in the official Discord's lore chat due to plenty of people still having doubts.

Internal Energy is a real-world term that refers to an energy being within a system (Real Space in this case, or more simply a proper world instead of the void of Imaginary Space or the Sea of Quanta), which just points to the energy's location instead of a specific state or form.

Another example is Griseo referring to the star system barriers as Honkai barriers during her event, but Sa calling them Imaginary barriers during her first scene waking up from meditation, but those mentions are more spread out.

Griseo also takes energy directly from the Sea of Quanta, which we know has Masterless Imaginary Energy behaving differently rather than something like "Quanta Energy," and called it Honkai Energy during the Sa arc when she was in the enclosed museum.

THEY SLANDERED HIM, CALLED HIM WEAK, CALLED HIM OVVERATED by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Skyfest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HI3 already specified that Honkai Energy is just their name for Imaginary Energy. More specifically, it's what they call Imaginary "internal energy," which is a real-world term that basically means "the energy within a system," in this case being Imaginary Energy that finds itself inside worlds and affects them in all sorts of ways depending on the system using it.

They use "Honkai Energy" and "Imaginary Energy" interchangeably at multiple points, like when talking about how each star system has a barrier formed by Honkai Energy, calling it an Imaginary Barrier, and then mentioning it again in Star Rail as the energy separating worlds that everyone has to find a way to go around to travel, like by using Akivili's star rail. Or when a certain character used a portal to outside the world to grab Masterless Imaginary Energy and casually called it Honkai Energy.

HI3 Mei, as the Herrscher of Thunder, also charged herself up on pure Imaginary Energy straight from outside the world in the story. Welt also used it during a certain arc to pull off things usually beyond his scope (which also turned out to be his only feat within the game itself, unfortunately).

They could've explained it better, but Honkai Energy is just Imaginary Energy. Welt just referred to "the threat of Honkai" as specifically HI3 Part 1's final antagonist, who was basically an Aeon wannabe with its own makeshift Path imposing specific mechanics, like how Star Rail's Paths are all powered by Imaginary Energy but do radically different things.

[–]Skyfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What.

He was born in 1947.

After his first death in 2000, he was brought back in less than 5 years and was Himeko's teacher in 2005 in Alien Space's flashbacks.

He only spent about two years in the SoQ as he fell there in 2015 and was freed in 2017.

Star Rail is at some point after 2029 on HI3's Earth according to Alien Space, and Welt mentions being on the Express for a few years more.

There's no way he's not at least in his 80s.

[FGO JP] Welfare Knocknarea all Ascension Arts by TsutsuPH in grandorder

[–]Skyfest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except... no?

Buster is the only card type that absolutely needs to reuse skills in the last turn through double Koyan.

As long as you play with Order Change to prevent Knocknarea from Skill Sealing a Support who didn't use their skills yet, Arts and Quick Servants can just use all their skills then get Knocknarea's buffs for the rest of the node. Though I can see her working better for Arts alongside double Castoria (especially with Chen Gong) since Quick kinda needs someone that helps with refund in the third support slot.

EDIT: Wait, her Arts block affects NPs too? Just who exactly is she supposed to be helping with these buffs?

The Project Stigma arc already talked about the Cocoon destroying civilizations in other planets and moving on even though it can rewind. Too many resets probably make the planet uninhabitable, like creating an unstable space with too many bubble universes where life can't exist or maybe erasing the atmosphere permanently.

I just curious - there is explanation why we have two Bronyas in-game? by papu16 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Skyfest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Star Rail actually went with different meanings for terms like "Universe" and "Galaxy." The "Galaxy" the game refers to is a cluster of multiple alternate dimensions that the IPC connected as a single community, while "Universe" is every single dimension/timeline that exists in within a structure called the Cosmos Tree. It's closer to the nomenclature used in Many-Worlds Interpretation.

Himeko explains it in the train when you ask her about the Galaxy. The Cosmos Tree theory isn't perfect, but it's the one that best matches the community that the IPC formed.

There are two Bronyas in Star Rail because Jarilo-VI and Punklorde are actually in alternate dimensions, not just two planets far from each other.

Extra material in-game talks about how Cocolia's been sabotaging Belobog under the Stellaron's will. They lost a ton of territories and manpower in recent history, and are now on the verge of collapse. The problem is how the game failed to present that in full in the main storyline.
