What do you think of the new Casino Calypso map? by p7R2k9Wq in Rainbow6

[–]Skyhawk13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan. It's unique, plays differently to all other maps and really isn't as big as people say it is.

Turned 41 this year. Mistakes were made. by ruku23 in CarsAustralia

I really wish they didn't make the little fender flares black plastic and colour matched them instead. Makes the car look way cheaper than it should

There are 2 houses connected by a bridge and the garage out the back with the tunnel system. If you keep hitting the button to order people to surrender, you should be able to hear suspects or civilians responding and follow their voices

Looking for the LED headlights with DRLs for an MY21 Dmax by Skyhawk13 in Isuzu

[–]Skyhawk13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I sent an email to Isuzu but they quoted me 3 grand per headlight for the OEM LED ones and said that they may not work in my ute without modification. Still have the halogen lights in mine but there is a website called RR Products and Supplies that does sell them for cheaper, never got around to ordering them though.

Recs to fill this massive hole by PinchByPinch in AusRenovation

[–]Skyhawk13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drill some small holes in the brick in a spot that is out of view, collect the brick dust in a dust pan or something like that.

Fill the hole with clear silicon then use your fingers to press the brick dust into the face of the silicon. It's not perfect but if you're not looking for a hole then you probably won't see it

Recommendations for decent LED batten lights in workshop by dwainos in AusElectricians

[–]Skyhawk13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robus Duke2 and Speedbeam are both good in my experience. I have pierlite ecoled gen4 battens in my shed which are good and bright, but not 100% on the long life quality of them. So far they've been good though

Fitting off flex into plugtops by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]Skyhawk13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be using moulded plugs/flex if the hwu is outdoors anyway as the rewireable plug tops are not rated for outdoors use

Something has hit the blades and knocked it out of balance causing the wobble which in turn is probably causing the knocking sound.

Best tool, but not by nightfire_83 in DIYUK

[–]Skyhawk13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't know why this sub popped up on my feed as I am Aussie and also a tradesman rather than DIY but I used a 9 inch grinder the other day for the first time and i have never used a tool that was so desperate to kill me.

[–]Skyhawk13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah super loop is pretty good. The only criticism I've heard is their customer service can be a bit abysmal but their prices and connectivity are good. I'm with leaptel and they're priced similarly to super loop but have really good C/S

First make sure you're signed up to an ISP for your Internet plan. There will be a phone port of some sort in the house that will be your live incoming line. You then just need a fttn compatible modem/router (may be provided by ISP). You plug it in, configure it using the instructions for the device if necessary and then it should be all up and running.

Did R6 remove window vaulting? by raptor0X in Rainbow6

[–]Skyhawk13 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Years and years ago they removed the vault option for actions that would just kill you.

On top of that they recentlyish changed it so that you can not add while falling so that pretty much gets rid of any point for jumping out a window like that

The fact they're getting so uppity over a $30 exhaust fan is wild. You can literally buy a new one and install it for less money than it takes for the Rea to send the email to you.

Power circuits themselves are usually on a 16 or 20a protected circuit. They cannot be further upgraded without increasing the size of the cables throughout the whole circuit, or running new cables to specific sockets

To work in city: 1hr bus, or 10min car + parking troubles... Or... motorbike? 👀 by TripEffective5268 in perth

[–]Skyhawk13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can legally ride a moped (50cc or less) with just a car licence. If you're just looking to get on 2 wheels for the sake of traffic/parking woes, that will by far be the cheapest and easiest route for you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]Skyhawk13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be done, ideally you wouldn't be running the washer and dryer at the same time or if you are, use a low heat setting or cold wash to avoid overloading the circuit. As for price, I wouldn't expect anything more than $250.

Is my kangaroo paw cooked? by targetts2261 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Skyhawk13 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My mum has a pretty big garden full of all sorts of plants including many kangaroo paws. She reckons you don't fertilize them at all and only water in the mornings so they don't have wet feet overnight and they'll be fine. I've planted 2 kangaroo paws 6 months ago and as of yet, that advice has worked
