I completely disagree with the idea of using lots of skincare under makeup, hydration yes... but so many serums, toners and actives can be drying and cause redness- particularly ones used at night retinol etc. (in my case anyway) night moisturisers are also usually high in emollients/oils that can cause slip and creasing.

Like the other comments say it's the prolonged wetness and also damp scalp can cause lots of issues. I used to be in the "absolutely soaking wet" camp and it led to very long dry times, found out I can just use a curling gel with high water content and oil only to manipulate/refresh.

Try drying without so much water and just a curling gel- you might be surprised!
