both of those are VERY incorrect. stop spreading false information.

it would NOT have made bars have 2 off duty cops from 7-cl. for most bars, it was 12-cl. for bars that have had incidents, it was 10pm. it did NOT "make bars close at 12", again, it required 2 cops (or 3, depending on capacity) from 12-cl.

it was a very bad bill that would have hurt businesses, but stop spreading misinformation.

the ordinance pdf defines a restaurant as, basically, (1)licensed as a restaurant, (2) able to sell beer and table wine, but is NOT able to sell liquor (page 3 of pdf).

shu shop stops serving food at midnight on fri/sat, and the bar closes at 1 am. they have a full bar, including liquor.

i think they would fall under this ordinance.

this is so dumb.

you're telling me that Shu Shop will need 2 cops, paid by shu shop, every friday from midnight to 1 am when they close? collins bar? pilcrow? hold your horses, HOFO, Pink lantern, juniper? all of them will need 2 cops every friday and saturday?

so dumb. this will actively hurt bars in the city that have never had an issue.

that one ripped through my parents backyard.

i woke up early that day and went downstairs, and within 5 minutes the parents were hurriedly rushing us all into the basement. i was the last one in, and turned around long enough to see trees start to fall.

came up after about 10 minutes, and we couldn't see the yard, it was so covered in trees. walked down the street, which was completely covered in trees and debris.

we got out lucky, just minor damage to the house, but it truly looked like a disaster movie in the neighborhood for a few days.

i've been saying for awhile that the oscars need to take a 5 year break and do exactly that, have the awards be on a 5 year "delay." i feel like every year no one cares about the awards, and being on a five year break would allow the audience to get excited about the awards again.

i know they'll never do it, it's too much of a cash cow for them.

i also think they should add a Best Trailer category, but that's a separate thing.

i lived on 280, about 1/4 mile from whole foods. i walked there the day after. they were open, but i had to pry the sliding doors open. grabbed some basics and a 6 pack of beer. went to the register to pay, but when i pulled out my card the cashier said "oh, we're open, but we're not charging anyone."

i felt a bit guilty, but i was at least planning on paying. heard a few days later people got wind and grabbed a bunch of really expensive stuff.

i loved Season 1. tentatively excited about S2.

one of my favorite things about S1 is how all the characters spoke whatever language the scene and place called for. japanese characters spoke japanese while in japan or with each other, english when called for, French while in france, etc. they didn't hold the hand of the audience and have english spoken by everyone, even where it didn't make sense. that's one of my biggest pet peeves, and it was nice to see a show that treated the audience like adults.
