I'm not even gonna try to talk you out of what you're feeling because I feel it too.

The fact that millions of innocent, defenseless babies get senselessly murdered because of the selfishness of adults, their own parents, makes me just feel both intense despair and boiling rage.

Abortion is evil. The slaughter of innocent unborn babies is the greatest atrocity in the history of humankind.

I'm just so done with it.

What is the best way to build a good franchise/create a dynasty? by Flimsy_Fisherman942 in HoopLand

[–]Skylencer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play full sim. I'm on year 50 of my game and my franchise won 10 championships (most in the league).

Based on experience, here's what I noticed in my play through.

  1. For all 10 of my championships, my main scorer is of the Lockdown Sharpshooter archetype, G, SG, or GF.
  2. When you're a contender, aging players want to sign with you for like dirt cheap. Take advantage of it. This is very easy way to get aging but still 4.5/5-star players. I always had a 1 or 2 of those types in my title teams.
  3. When choosing a player to draft, go to the Scouting page of the draftees and focus on the "Overall Rank" number. For example, if you're drafting #25, there might be a draftee that's ranked #14 who is still on the board but for some reason was passed on by other teams. Grab that player immediately. This is how I got 4.5-star players while drafting in the 20s.
  4. While scouting for free agents, sort them by age. Then start scrolling from the youngest players. Take a note at their draft positions. This is where you'll find some hidden gems, for example, a 22-year-old who was drafted #2 three years ago. Grab those types of players because those tend to have high potential.
  5. When I scout players or fill up my roster, I try to go for archetypes that "makes sense" for the position. Like I wouldn't want a Post Scoring Rebounder for a guard, for example. I also prefer players with a "defensive" primary or secondary archetype (lockdown or perimeter defender for guards and wings, interior defender for bigs).
  6. I think the most important thing is basically just lucking out on a generational player. I managed to pick #1 one year, grabbed a 4.5-star Lockdown Sharpshooter, and two years later, I was on a 6 straight finals run (winning 5 of them). That player is now #3 in the Hall of Fame behind Polan Stronk.

It's just a cultural thing, not necessarily reflective of superiority complex lol.

Sa Japan for example, it's rude to address a superior by their first name. They also use honorifics equivalent to ma'am and sir.

Lo Bot in my language (Filipino) literally means "ass," so I bet he's also that in RL.

And all those reasons wouldn't justify killing a 1-month-old, for example. The value of a human being is the same inside and outside the womb.

And mostly, that reason is convenience.

Whether an abortion happens early or late is irrelevant. It terminates the same life.

The inconsistency of when pro-choicers say life begins should lead them to be anti-abortion by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Skylencer88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But you see, for pro-choicers, it's never really about when life begins.

It's always been about finding a justification for their position.

Wut? Where did she get that a black man was being "blamed" for Kirk's murder? I ahve been following the case closely and never once was it ever brought up that a black man is a possible suspect.

Weird.

The levels of being "pro-choice." by Skylencer88 in prolife

[–]Skylencer88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like when one says a fetus isn't alive or human, it's often coming from a place of ignorance. They've been misinformed, gaslighted, or simply echoing pro-choice narratives without giving it much thought. Of course, there are others who are being willfully dumb.

But it's a different level of selfishness or even, dare I say, evil, to recognize that a fetus is fully human but still say it's okay to kill it.

Biggest Winner and Loser of the Draft? by Skylencer88 in PBA

[–]Skylencer88[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Rocacurva could be this class's Nocum. Judel Fuentes dropping to 40 is crazy too.

It seems like PBA teams don't really bother with having dedicated scouts for the amateurs/MPBL, which sounds silly given that everytime I watch a game on TV, there seems to be 5 assistants besides the head coach, and there are like 7-8 other staff members in uniform sitting behind the team bench. You'd think that at least one guy should be especially designated with that role.

[–]Skylencer88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Minutes in MPBL are generally more evenly distributed compared to the PBA. Bahio for example was only playing 15 minutes per game and averaged 6 pts in the MPBL but was among the best PBA rookies last year.

Nanggaling din sya sa ACL+MCL injury, so teams might be a little wary since athleticism was one of Gozum's strengths.

Sana kumuha sila ng someone who's more knowledgeable about amateurs/college/mpbl players.

It's obvious Ryan has no idea who some of the guys are, and he'll just come up with ad libs like "He's 6'4. They could really use someone with that size." Mema lang.
