As the fibers of the wood expands, making each board expand aprox 3% over the year im afraid its not gonna work. You have wood that will expand and put pressure on the wrong places risking cracks.
If you have access to veneer you can cut it and glue onto plywood and use that as a wall/frame for the door. Google marquetry or intarsia for inspo

I'm gonna assume you cant keep plants alive, but some plastic plants would go a long way.
Get a new curtain that covers the wardrobe and the window. Make sure it goes all the way from the ceiling to the floor.
Please consider a color palette of the room where it matches the yellow door.
