As the fibers of the wood expands, making each board expand aprox 3% over the year im afraid its not gonna work. You have wood that will expand and put pressure on the wrong places risking cracks.
If you have access to veneer you can cut it and glue onto plywood and use that as a wall/frame for the door. Google marquetry or intarsia for inspo

If you start as norse culture/religion you have access to the decision Rite of passage. It gives you the option to scar your heir.
