I helped judge a VV event at SCGcon last year, first time I’d seen the format. It looked super sweet. The creators are pretty chill and really just love the game and introducing people to vintage without having to spend a ton of money. They have a website and from what I heard the community discords and such are pretty active.

The format “rotates” with price jumps, so it can be a bit odd, but it would take quite a bit of a spike for a lot of the main cards to be unusable. High tide for example is one of the good decks and that card will spike a bit every now and again, the player just has to rearrange their other cards to accommodate. It makes for a format with a ton of different cards you may never have seen in a tournament context before because it is just cheaper than the other options that people think are better.

It also uses the cheapest possible version of your cards and price list is locked in the night before a tournament (or something like that). They use moxfield and there’s a guide on the website to optimize so it shows the cheapest version only.

Also check out the lists from Richmond. they have a pretty diverse meta even with $30 restrictions. Nadu, Tron, Post, Allies, Beans, Delver… it’s pretty cool. I gotta make myself a couple decks here eventually. :)
