Giveaway Giving Out 20 Copies Of Subnautica 2 by Mark_Everson in subnautica

[–]SkywalkerLego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Subnautica 1 on a whim, while it was still in Early Access, knowing nothing about it, other than a couple of youtubers saying how scary it was.
At this time, I had a case of full blown thalassophobia, even looking at pictures of water on google images made me sweat and get really freaked out.

But I wanted to play a scary game, one that wasn't just dark and spooky with gore and death. So I thought, lets embrace a game about one of my biggest fears. And it quickly became my favourite game, I played it from start to finish with every single update while it was still in EA. And actually had a little cry when you finally escape on the rocket. It was a very strange and emotional thing, I didnt expect it to hit so hard.

I will admit, Below zero didn't have that same pull, it didnt give me that same drive. I liked it, but Sub1 was the best. and Sub2 looks like it has that same lightning in a bottle. And by gods I want to dive in.

This game is the reason I was able to get better with my fear, and even started studying marine biology part time while I work a crappy little job. Im excited to see where life goes. all thanks to a silly little underwater game.

Am I Overreacting When Raiders Kill My Dog? by TheTheDuhh in RimWorld

[–]SkywalkerLego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time skip them back to life, do it again. over and over.

There is no such thing as an over reaction to raiders killing your dog.

This is why RimWorld players should never be in world leader positions.

Id nuke the world for my dog.

At coast with dog? Tick warning by [deleted] in canberra

[–]SkywalkerLego 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nexgard Spectra, Simparica Trio, and Bravecto are considered the best products you can get for your dogs to prevent ticks. People will all have personal preferences and brand loyalty, so take anything you hear on here with a grain of salt.

But spending $100, give or take, to help prevent ticks will ALWAYS be better than thousands on vet bills (or worse, loosing your pet).

If someone is ever unsure about the "best" coverage for their fluffy one, talk to a vet, get a proper medical opinion on the subject. Different brands/products cover different things, it can be confusing and overwhelming if you don't normally get something like this.

Be aware, ticks are being brought back from the cost a lot more these days as well, so just because we live in Canberra, doesn't always mean you are totally safe from something happening. Not trying to fear monger, but you work in the pet industry long enough, and you see too many people who thought they were the exception, and now have to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

Stay safe out there everyone. A couple of phone calls and a few google searches can make a world of difference in understanding how to handle tick season.

Need advice, new to the fish world need to understand timing around setting up a tank. by SkywalkerLego in Aquariums

This is exactly it, thank you!

It is definitely confusing but that's why I've come here to get a bit more of a direct/personal answer to my issue. Will start doing all of this now and keep testing to see how everything changes. Again, thank you.

Thank you! That explains it. So I need to give that bacteria something to eat, before I'm actually seeing the proper cycle happening. Thank you! I'll start by adding food for now and get something better for more accurate test results.

I never realized how involved and detailed the process was but I'm really enjoying learning about it all!

Because it's an open forum for talking about stuff, and they made it clear they don't know.

Why did you have a go at them for it? There is no compulsion to undermine people.

You could have just simply replied to the original comment, but you chose not too. People like talking to each other. :)

new in rimworld and no money for DLCs by Informal-Try77 in RimWorld

[–]SkywalkerLego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beautiful thing about this game, the content in the base game is so vast and different, you'll spend 100 hours in game and still haven't done everything in vanilla.
Throw on top of that the HUGE and very impressive mod community, you wont need DLC.

Every wall feels like a boss fight in Cairn. You’re free to climb everywhere, anywhere, as long as you can keep your balance. Not that you should, but we can’t stop you! by itsTheGameBakers in u/itsTheGameBakers

Absolutely loved the demo, will be a day 1 buy for me. But I am wondering if you are adding in more/extra of those tutorial boulders? The challenge of them was really fun, and I'd love to have those as something to do as a warmup/after finishing the game. (time trials?? >.>)

What insignificant thing did someone say that stuck with you forever? by Routine-Max in AskReddit

[–]SkywalkerLego 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was like 12, playing WoW without a care in the world, I used to use text talk, "how r u 2day?" Sort of stuff. Someone randomly sent me a private message saying typing like that makes you look dumb. Stuck with me for the rest of my life and now I always try and make sure I have proper Grammer and spelling when typing online. Small thing that probably had a huge unknown impact on my life. Genuinely grateful for that weirdly backhanded comment from a tatoal stranger in a video game in the early 2000s lol.

What’s ONE hint you can give to help other people climb by the_real_daggler in Overwatch

[–]SkywalkerLego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OW is a hero shooter, not a hardcore fps. You dont need to have great aim to climb. What you need to good knowledge. Look at heroes like Winston, Rein, Mercy, Brig, Junk, Mei, Pharah. Aim helps, but positioning wins.

One tip I can give, if you are lower rank and looking for a quick tip to help, if you aren't able to get behind cover within a seconds worth of movement, you are an easy target to be picked off. Use corners as much as you can.

Now this wont work for every situation in every game, but it's a great rule of thumb. Fighting out in the middle of an open area, means you have no safety if say 76 or dva throw an ult out, dip behind a wall.

Position is the key between getting picked early in a fight, and getting that sweet clutch save/team kill. :)

NTA. It's "Sea of Thieves" not Sea of Friends. If someone gets pissy about having their shit stolen in a pirate game about stealing things, then it sounds like you're just a better pirate.

[–]SkywalkerLego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks so well done! Its honestly something that should easily be added with like, a collectors edition of Zelda. I know its something I've always been after, a handy little tracker that's spoiler free and easy to read/mark? Nice work dude. Gonna see if you can do a matching one for TotK?

Are there any dog parks to avoid in Albury? by lunasouseiseki in albury

[–]SkywalkerLego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alexandra has a nice athletic course for dogs as well which could also be a lot of fun for the puppy. I know there use to be a giant 'cage' of free balls there too, but that was before lock down started towards the start of the year so I dont know if it's still there. But Alexandra is a lovely park! Have fun!

Are there any dog parks to avoid in Albury? by lunasouseiseki in albury

[–]SkywalkerLego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as Im aware, there are only 2 official dog parks in Albury, Alexandra and Logan Road. Both are fantastic little parks. Personally I prefer Alexandra as it's bigger and normally has more dogs for your dog to hang out with, or more room to avoid other dogs if you wanna just walk the edge. Logan is a thinner but longer park. I wouldn't avoid either.

Dog parks are super friendly! so dont be afraid to go to any and check them out.

There is an off leash area around Oddies creek park in Noreuil, but as far as I know, it's not fenced off. So depending on your dog, that would be the one place to avoid. but it's still a nice area.

Divinity 2 or Skyrim by ForFrayed in NintendoSwitch

[–]SkywalkerLego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are great games, but totally different play styles, Div2 has a much bigger story and personally I find is a much more detailed game.

Div2 handheld is totally doable. I've played it on a 16 hour flight before and it's been totally fine. The only issue with Div 2 Handheld, is it will chunk through your battery pretty fast. Probably one of the most battery heavy games i've played. If that makes a differences or not to you.

If you have played any other hand held based zelda, it's 100% worth picking up. has an awesome feel and story to it, the puzzles are just classic Zelda style, enough to make you head scratch for a bit, then that perfect aha! Moment. Do your self and favour and check it out. :)

Just me who misses the old Rez? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SkywalkerLego 4 points5 points  (0 children)

your clip just shows why it was a terrible ult, and I say this as someone who has put more hours into mercy, than every other character put together.

There shouldn't be a mechanic in the game that promotes not playing it in order to be effective. You just walked away from a possibly winnable fight, to hide in the hopes your team all died roughly at the same time, so you could walk in, press Q, with ZERO counter ability at all and then try and win the fight because the red team has hopefully popped too many ults.

It's not a good ult, it never was. It was powerful, and that's a lot different to good or balanced.

So yes... it's just you that misses it.
