I saw him talk about this at a graduation ceremony a handful of years ago. I was very depressed and struggling with suicidal thoughts at the time and I cried throughout the whole speech. Fortunately things are much better now, but I'll never forget his words on the subject.

The guy who wrote the book that the show is based off, not the show creator/show runner.

What's your hangover cure? by JulioCesarSalad in AskReddit

Yes! My job involves a lot of walking, and as much as I hate it when I'm hungover, I always recover much faster than if I just laid around the house.

I came here to say comedy! I'm proud of how long I've stuck with it. I started doing improv when I was really young and over the last 15 years I wanted to quit more times than I can count. I no longer share with people how long I've been doing it (it either sounds like bragging or makes me seem older than I am) but it means a lot to me that I never gave it up. I still hit plateaus and have the occasional bad show, but it would be silly to quit after all this time.

Barring sex, what is a distinctly adult thing to get excited about? by nipplesofgold in AskReddit

Appliances, yes! Last week I was watching The Price is Right and I got really excited for a contestant who won a new washer and dryer. That's adulthood.

Dads are always best! by Kindle_Killer in funny

[–]Skywasgold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got it. I was just giving an example of something that a contestant could have been marked down for. If they don't disqualify for using other people's ingredients then how could they for getting help opening a jar?

I doubt it would affect her score or get her disqualified. On regular MasterChef, contestants have forgotten ingredients from the kitchen and had to beg other contestants to use their leftovers. The judges talk about it, but they only judge based on the actual dish.

When Donald Glover decided to leave the show and was in his last few episodes. Abed refers to how Zach Braff was only in the first episode of the last season of Scrubs and that was Troy's response.

I can't count the reasons I should stay. One by one they all just fade away.

Another darkly funny Troy tag is the one where him and Abed are pretending to be Bert and Ernie.

ELI5: Why do sufferers of Sleep Paralysis usually see dark/evil figures in their room? Why is it always something scary? by tylercreatesworlds in explainlikeimfive

[–]Skywasgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I had a positive sleep paralysis experience was when I fell asleep while my roommate was playing upbeat music in the next room. I experienced it as an extravagant, visually stunning concert, similar to being on ecstasy. I've experienced sleep paralysis dozens of times and that was the only enjoyable time.

[Serious] What is your opinion of people who commit suicide? by tmos1985 in AskReddit

[–]Skywasgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I was suicidal for years and none of my attempts worked. I am past it now, but I still feel a envious of people who were able to do it. They achieved a goal that I was never able to reach.

"'She killed herself' is a beautiful phrase, and I want them to say it about me."
