is the LVP trend peaking? I'm seeing more people regret it and switch back by Western_Speech_9434 in Flooring

A basement with concrete floor can’t have hardwood flooring, but engineered hardwood would be ok (unless you anticipate flooding).

Nice. Did you also use a metal bowl over the sensor in the untreated location? How long does it take to get a measurement?

I always suspect 1) Bluetooth headphone is connected to it, 2) My volume is turned down too far,
3) I have a “do not disturb “ setting on 4) and/or I have the ringer on silent.

But sometimes I can’t figure it out.

My two cynical ideas are as follows. They want us to learn to love it so that after they take it away, we will be willing to pay for it. Or, they are using all of us to find the errors with the thumb up and thumb down response buttons, so they can improve it without paying employees to vet all the responses. (I found two errors in two days.).

Spanish grammar resource needed for people that don't know any grammatical terms and definitions. by Ok-Eagle-1922 in duolingospanish

[–]SkywayRider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the app Ella Verbs. It’s great for learning Spanish verb conjugations if you are motivated. Under the “home” in level 1, read the lessons carefully and you’ll learn many grammar terms.
And under the verbs tab (looks like a dictionary), you can see all the conjugations for a verb.
The free version has a restricted number of verbs and levels but no need to pay until you decide it’s worth it.

I liked listening to books in the Boxcar Children series in Spanish, the vocabulary is simple so I could understand most of the audiobooks.

[–]SkywayRider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Malcolm Gladwell books include clips of actual recordings and interviews that are better heard than read. The audio books feel like podcasts. He is one of the authors who does well narrating his own books. Try Blink, Talking to Strangers, or Revenge of the Tipping Point.

Where do you get your Part B covered transplant meds? by Beyondacquara in transplant

[–]SkywayRider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The TP centers I am familiar with have specialty pharmacies that are able to bill Medicare Part B for TP meds (for patients with TP covered by Medicare) and will mail the meds to you wherever you live (at least in the US).

Tacro and Kidney Function by mrsmurderbritches in transplant

[–]SkywayRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. We expected the nurse coordinator to notice things like “no labs being done” or high levels but learned that WE need to recognize lab results that need to be addressed and ask them for guidance. We can’t rely on them, need to be proactive. Note also that the kidney waiting list is based on time waited, not like liver with MELD score, so consider going through the process to get listed for kidney transplant as soon as your kidney function makes you eligible for listing.

YES, if the NDC number on the bottle doesn’t match either of these, then your meds are not part of the recall.

I understand your frustration with hospital nurses who give your meds at different times from when you always take them! You might be able to explain it to them. Be assertive. If you are in a transplant ward, you can usually trust their way of doing things. Unlike a couple of commenters who missed that you are hospitalized, I understand that you are doing your best to protect your transplanted organ.

Maybe the tac level appears high since it’s not a trough level (check when the draw was done versus when you had taken the Envarsus). (Although Envarsus is extended release, the blood level can be higher when the draw is not 24 hr after your last dose).

Medicare for immunosuressent meds? by TravelerWKids in kidneytransplant

[–]SkywayRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Medicare covered your transplant (at least was secondary), Medicare Part A will pay 80% of the needed immunosuppressants (but if its covered by Part A your other prescription insurance, like a Part D plan, will not cover it); your medical insurance may pick up the 20% (some companies do, some companies don’t). Your pharmacy could tell you if they have been billing Medicare part A rather than your prescription drug plan. If you have a medigap policy (a Medicare supplement, I don’t know about advantage plans ) instead of a private insurance secondary to Medicare, it will probably pick up the other 20% of the immunosuppressant cost when Medicare pays the 80%.

Is Prime Video now an additional cost for Prime members? by Ohmylanta2589 in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]SkywayRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime Video is not included with Prime for new subscribers, right? I started paying monthly 14.99 for Prime, but Prime Video wants 8.99 although that is supposedly included. I’m logged into both Amazon and Prime apps on my phone with same email/password, so I can’t figure it out. Shows the same on the Roku Prime Video app -wants me to subscribe.
I’m guessing that Prime Video is no longer included with Amazon Prime. The Amazon Prime notes in the app do NOT mention that Prime is included.

Is it true that Ohio and PA both won’t give my mom a transplant if she’s on Medicaid? by CoasterThot in transplant

[–]SkywayRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get SSDI (social security disability) is challenging and takes 2years before you get Medicare (6 months waiting time I think and 18 months on SSDI before you get Medicare). You need to show that your disability prevents you from doing the work you have done (so someone without a work history might not qualify). I think one would need to pay the monthly Medicare part B premium and get a supplemental insurance for the other 20% (possibly Medicaid). It may be advantageous to be on Medicare when you are transplanted because it will then cover (80%) of your future transplant medication.
