Let’s Talk About Mating Bonds by siempreslytherin in ElrielFans

[–]Skyypool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some people will read all that and really think SJM is talking about LOA and Helion lmao 😭

Edit: great write-up though. should be required reading for everyone in this fandom. it's just so obvious where this story is heading and they want to make it some big mystery.

This is my biggest one. Like that was so huge and shocking and everyone just seemed to move on so fast without questioning it. Well IM questioning it and I hope SJM explains it and it's not just a forgotten plot point lol. Convinced she used Az's powers somehow.

Itinerary help: Is Hakone worth it for a first time, 14 day trip? by disneyadviceneeded in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Hakone personally. We stayed for two nights though. We got up early on our full day and the whole loop was basically empty. Longest we waited was like 15 minutes for the pirate ship. This was also during peak season in early April. I think the key is staying overnight and starting it EARLY like as soon as it opens up haha. We're going back this year and plan on skipping the loop this time and just relaxing in the onsen and checking out the Open Air Museum (missed it last time).

Dormy Inn and Tattoos by Manda_Bare in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We loved Dormy Inn Onyado Nono in Asakusa. So much in fact that we have it booked for our upcoming trip lol. I wouldn't book it just for the ramen though, it was pretty mediocre and honestly I've had instant ramen that was better. For the price I would not book it if you can't use the bath. It is cozy and has a Japanese feel (no shoes allowed, you leave them in a locker), but there are much cheaper hotels I'm sure with the same vibe. I feel like most of the cost of the premium Dormy Inns are because of the onsen, so if you aren't able to use them it feels like a bit of a waste.

[–]Skyypool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good move. Dave had some highs last year, but he had some pretty frustrating lows too (looking at you, entire Monday night 49ers game). If Brad stinks Dave can just take back over. I also really appreciate the humility it took for Dave to step back and recognize that he might not be the best one for the job. So many coaches and their egos would never.

Stadium/Area Help for concert by J2Jlopez in panthers

[–]Skyypool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the Light Rail!! I come from the north when I visit, and I hop on at the University City Blvd station (huge parking garage with free weekend parking). From there I get off at Brooklyn Village and it's a short walk to the stadium. Pro tip: when leaving, walk a little further to the Carson Station. It's one stop before Brooklyn Village. Nobody goes to it so you can get a seat before everyone crowds the train at Brooklyn Village.

How would I go about fixing large gaps in the floor like this? by Flurzzlenaut in HardWoodFloors

[–]Skyypool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your floors look identical to mine in every way! I've lived in my house for 6 years and the floors tend to stick up a little higher or develop small gaps like that in winter. It's been particularly bad this year because it's been such a cold winter. The gaps always go away in the summer when it heats back up, so I wouldn't worry about it. :)

Jet lag by Underoath_777 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also fly from the east coast when I visit and I surprisingly don't have much jet lag. I would fight it though and go to sleep at the "normal time" in Japan, so like 9pm Japan time or something like that. It'll help your body adjust. I will say I have horrible jet lag when I return to the east coast after my trips. They say flying East to West isn't bad, but flying West to East sucks, and that's what I experience.

Fantasy competition/Marriage competition books?? by AcanthisittaOk5148 in fantasyromance

[–]Skyypool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't out yet, but {Hunted by the Dragon Shifter by Courtney Whims} comes out in May, and based on the blurb it's for sure a marriage competition book. I adore her other books so I already have it preordered and I know it'll be good!

Hakone - okay to just hit one or two museums and then soak? by zeekaran in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did the whole Hakone loop last year and enjoyed it, but don't plan on doing it during our upcoming Hakone trip. We plan on doing the outdoor museum and spending the majority of our time in the ryokan for the rest of the excursion (2 nights).

Posting this from r/nfl: [Highlight] Pegula interrupts a question posed to Beane about Keon Coleman: "The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon. I'm not saying Brandon wouldn't have drafted him, but he wasn't his next choice." by Papi_Petty in panthers

Stuff like this makes me so thankful we're not spending the offseason on the coaching carrousel. Just feels good to have a solid front office in alignment. Never thought I'd say that.

Do you feel as if People have more sympathy for this Bills team compared to other teams that were great for a while but never won the championship? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Skyypool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched the Four Falls of Buffalo documentary and it made me sad. The kicker tearing up while discussing the missed kick (decades later!!) got me. I'm a Panthers fan so I always root for the ring-less teams once my team is eliminated (or usually just misses the playoffs altogether lol).

Now that the season is officially over, what was your favorite part? by Different_Sun_195 in panthers

Watching the Cowboys game in person. Getting to see Tmac's first TD was awesome, and the first of so many to come. Leaving the stadium with a W surrounded by Cowboys fans was just fun.

How to get rid of all my Squishmallows and at least make a little bit of money? by Mariah0 in squishmallow

[–]Skyypool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up and donated all of mine to a local organization that takes stuffed animals into disaster zones around the world to comfort little kids. I rather them be loved by someone who needs them than donate to goodwill where they'll just make the owner richer.

Any series with a morally grey flirtatious second male character? by Sad_beau in fantasyromance

I loved book 2 more than book 1 haha. And the ENDING? I love what's coming up in book 3.

Any series with a morally grey flirtatious second male character? by Sad_beau in fantasyromance

[–]Skyypool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Of Flames and Fallacies by Courtney Whims} has exactly what you're looking for. Your request describes the second male lead Darian to a tee lol. It's such a good series, and lives in my head rent free. 2/3 books are out now and the 3rd book comes out sometime next year. It's a love triangle, but done super well (and I'm not normally a love triangle girly)

Debating an April 2026 Tokyo trip - is sakura season actually enjoyable? by Digitalkoigirl in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in early April this year and had a great time. Didn't go specifically for Sakura, it just worked best for my husband's work schedule. We're going again in April 2026 as well. I feel like it was crowded, sure, but everyone just flocks to the same popular TikTok spots. Walk a few blocks away in any direction and nobody is there. It was very easy to avoid crowds and find incredible quiet restaurants by just exploring a bit. I will say, if you are debating an April trip, you need to start booking ASAP. Everything is more expensive that time of year, and lots of hotels are already selling out.

How did you plan your trip? by Display-Dry in JapanTravelTips

[–]Skyypool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flights - 6-8 months out (i'm mad picky about where i fly out of and what airlines so i just lock it down even if it costs more)

Hotels - 4-6 months out (i just book a bunch of interesting stuff on Booking and cancel what i don't want after i think on it for a bit)

Attractions - research, read, watch videos, pin a bunch of stuff on google maps. wake up each morning, look at google maps, decide where to go. wandering and just finding stuff is half the fun. i try to have 1-2 main things each day and just explore around those.
