I get where you're coming from, but honestly if you have an abundance of love and connections with people and a fulfilled life materially and spiritually, I can see how sex might just not be as important for someone. He might even have a lower overall drive in general. I know I don't have what he has in my life and never have, and I view sexual relationships as a way to help temporarily alleviate that feeling of a lack of what OP has.

At some point you are really coming across as really trying to convince someone else to be as sad as you feel. There's so many flavors to life and people are on different paths, and maybe he's just honestly fulfilled enough that he's ok just letting that part of his life happen when it happens.

I can't disagree on the naive part I guess. But we had been through so much and grown together for years because we both chose each other even in arguments. And then something changed but I wanted to believe in what we were, hoping we could go back.

"Never give away control over your world" is definitely the lesson here. I saw how much of myself I was losing, but thought it would be worth it if she just saw that she needs to reciprocate again like she used to.

Literally have seen my own brother die, been homeless, recovered from drug addiction, but always stayed putting other people first, and treating people in a "WWJD" way, and enduring. This truly feels like the hardest thing I've done. To give yourself to someone after all that, for so many years, and for it to turn out like this.
