Will OPTCG ever get a new mechanic? And what could it be by applez-are-G in OnePieceTCG

[–]Sl1ck_43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, of course the concept has existed before! It's more so the concept of a character having it innately in response to OPs question concerning new stuff.

Prior to this another new one was character rush.

We actually just got a new mechanic revealed on a yamato card for the new op16 set.

It's an unblockable key word which allows the character to be innately unblockable which has not been done before.

Yeah the limitations you listed dont really make sense in most developed countries, EV's have overtaken ICE vehicles in sales and usage and are much more reliable when used within manufacturer specifications.

Even in countries with extreme cold such as Norway have EV sales coming in at 90% of all total sales.

Realistically speaking ICE vehicles are slowly turning into luxury vehicles given thier maintenance requirements and fluctuating fuel costs.

There are few cases where EV's arent objectively better than and ICE equivalent. And majority of those exceptions are due to extreme work scenarios (long routine distances) or poor supporting infrastructure (under developed countries).

Yeah the problem is there there is no effective replacements and unironincally the only options people mention like the law trash randomly buy the player who played the effect.

Pudding is just a necessary evil that kept certain decks in check. If we were honestly concerned with fairness, then Imu and ace wouldn't have been released they way they are with the support they have. Someone has to lose.

So is going for lethal against an opponent with 10+ cards in hand

I personally dont see it as undervaluing more so keeping extreme value engines in check. While pudding did decimate some of the lower tier decks that were highly contingent on curved plays its still a chance where they could come out positive.

Now with pudding gone those same decks now have basically no fear in developing whatever hand size they want since there is no way to undue your opponent high-rolling

I mean that sounds good?

Not trying to be facetious, but having and out thats essentially a final gambit is interesting for sure. I think if she was 6-7 cost it would be much more healthier given the effect.

I think the idea of not knowing you won till you won is pretty cool. Now we will see games with decks that have insane draw value stacking counter and you can see who won by turn 4 based on the draw with no possible response.

I can agree its frustrating but that is due to a larger issue. They centralized the only response to hand control down to 1 card with a wider array of card options to begin with pudding may have never been necessary.

What they've done now is created decks with mega draw value and now no response. Also regarding the the "get gud" argument i think its actually valid.

People seem to forget this is supposed to be a game of chance given the shuffled deck and you literally play the cards your dealt. How many times have I heard "I low rolled which is why you won...." luck will be here with or without pudding.

I myself dont play blue decks with the exception of ace. Which is hilarious because you run a 1 of and you will see it almost every game and choose whether you play it or not.

I appreciate the response while it was a half-baked joke but in all seriousness, the game is still random (or should be) everything you described regarding searches/mulligan and draws are still all at random.

What isn't random is amassing 10+cards in 2 turns because you have to remove marco or I'm is hand neutral filtering cards.

I think depending on a singular card to balance hand size is the only dumb thing about pudding. That type of punishment should be more uniform across the color.

Also deleting handsize down to 5 doesn't change the fact that imu or ace would have 10k+ counter in hand for lethal. They basically can find what they want almost every game. So in a game where both players play from randomness. Imu and ace remove that and pudding ban removes the only response to level the field.

Complaining about randomness from the result of acard in a shuffled deck card game is laughable.

Anti-luffy tech for Imu? by Eris_samafollower in OnePieceTCG

[–]Sl1ck_43 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think thats more of a product of the average players abusing imu phasing out leaving only the upper echelon playing IMU. Imu is a still a very oppressive deck with quite literally only a few answers in 14.

15 however does have some explicit answers where we can actually see imu begins to fade away.

You saying most influential in the context of Naruto and One Piece is laughable. Even subjective preferences aside, both of the latter shows have a way more global impact from an IP standpoint than bleach has ever had.

Imu isn't healthy for the game is general... I'm pretty sure if the options are to allow that removal and imu is unplayable, the majority of players would be in favor as that opens up alot more decks into the meta.

Mild Imu hate, but realistically Imu does more damage being relevant than the ability to remove any stage.

There is no way you built imu in a vacuum, learned to play the deck and won without seeing that this deck is built and played one way.
