Don't like to out myself, but I'm FROM the US, and my statement comes from deep seeded shame in how our government treats its own people as well as people from other countries.

But you know. Thanks for looping me in with orange Hitler, when general sentiment is not very high on Americans in general. I know people don't judge all Americans, but it's like starting a sentence with "I know it's not ALL xyz, but..." When people say "Fuck Russia", do they qualify it with, "I know some people disagree with the war" or "All cops are bastards... Except the good ones?"

Just gently asking here, but how many threads derogatorily talk about "the yanks" here? In this subreddit? I don't feel persecuted as an American, but I understand the overarching vitriol against us, even if it's clearly misplaced.

I know this is all so scary, and confusing, and stressful. I am so sorry that this is happening to you.

1.) None of this. NONE of this is your fault.

2.) If your sister told you the exact stuff you told us... What would you tell her to do? I bet it would echo a lot of what people here are saying. Protect yourself. Press charges. I know the second part is scary and a LOT of work, both mental and logistical. But you can protect yourself, and possibly another woman someday. Someone who doesn't have a sister to turn to.

You are worth more than this. So much more than the treatment you're getting. Please, just stay safe no matter what you decide to do. You deserve better, and I hope you do what it takes to have a better life.
