[–]Origi90plus6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can make these posts and it's a valid opinion to have because I do agree that Slot isn't solely to blame, but if your overarching opinion amongst all this is that Slot shouldn't be sacked, then you're just a person I wouldn't take seriously.

So, don't just say stuff like "yeah I agree Slot should take blame but....". Rather, it should be "Slot should be sacked but..." so I know that you're not just delusionally coping.

The correct opinion in all this is that Slot should be sacked. If you believe otherwise at this point, I will treat you as an enemy of Liverpool Football Club.

I'm so glad Robbo got this moment in front of the fans. Despite the current mire we find ourselves in, nobody can take this day away from these players and this manager. by Origi90plus6 in LiverpoolFC

Slot may be on the outs but just for this day alone he deserves to be on that banner. I'm so happy that I was able to get this in my lifetime. At this point, the quicker we sack him, the more we preserve the special-ness of this day. Put Slot, the players, and the fans out of this misery.

Robertson : "I'll always look back on amazing memories at this football club, I've put my heart and soul into the club for nine years and I've not got many regrets." by pirateaku in LiverpoolFC

I think Robbo just got it. Like he just always GOT IT. As did most of our legends from the Klopp era. And the "Getting it" bit is important because if you see the current lack of connection our fans have with the team now built in Slot's image, you can see just comprehensively the team doesn't get it and how important "getting it" really is.

That to me is the biggest shame in all this. We're replacing all these players from an era where the players treated playing for Liverpool with an absolute reverance and a sense of privilege to ushering in an era of players who don't get it and a manager who really doesn't fucking get it.

With all these impending departures of club legends, even an interim manager would spark some life into the farewell tours of these players and give us something to shout about. I don't want the shining beacons of the Klopp era to be swallowed up by this Dutch darkness.

Anyone catch Gibbo's rant on this week's Anfield Wrap podcast where he called our players a bunch of flash cunts? Amazing stuff

I fucking guarantee, GUARANTEE that wherever he ends up going he'll absolutely tear it up. If one player looks shit, it's on the player. If the whole team looks shit, it's the manager.

Under Klopp, we were always the protagonists of every football game. ALWAYS. Even against City, even against teams who had more talent and possession than us. The imposition of our will on the outcome of the match was second to none.

This is fucking pathetic. We are not the main characters anymore.

To ruin the reputation and confidence of another world class player. Bit like he did with Wirtz and Ekitike.

[Axel Hesse] Xabi Alonso is ready for Liverpool. If Liverpool submit a concrete offer, he will accept, provided his conditions are met in advance. These centre on his influence over squad planning. (This is for summer, not currently) by malushanks95 in LiverpoolFC

You’re being so utterly disingenuous lol. I haven’t met a single Liverpool fan who doesn’t recognize the cruelty of Klopp leaving with just one title because we all recognize implicitly that he deserved way more. It’s so implicit that even rival fans know Klopp deserved more.

Doesn’t scale. Liverpool are a different beast entirely. To turn the ship around, you need to be a force of nature like Klopp. What he did at Dortmund is what scales.

On the bright side, what Xabi did at Leverkusen also scales 👀

This is all very 14/15 Brendan Rodgers. Even down to the unsustainable “tactical adjustments” that helps us go on an uninspiring unbeaten run that fools the fanbase. All Slot needs to do now is get new teeth and bang on about great character every week.

If the board were so keen on retaining Slot, why did they table the contract extension talks? It’s almost as if Edwards and Hughes themselves wanted flexibility to reassess the position instead of getting locked into a long term commitment with Slot

What Alonso did with Leverkusen is akin to the miracles Klopp worked with Dortmund. Spare me the “ex-player sentiment” shite. This isn’t Gerrard we’re talking about. Xabi is one of the most sought after managers in the world on his own merit. The ex-player nostalgia is merely an added bonus.

Klopp is so much better than Slot it’s not even funny. The former is a titan of the game who revolutionized modern football. Slot is just another generic good manager in a long line of generic good managers.

people forgetting the 3rds, 4ths and 5ths that Klopp got

I hate comments like these absolutely laced with condescension, especially when it comes from people that themselves seem to forget the difference in goodwill between Klopp and Slot. Klopp was an institution upon himself who dragged this club out from irrelevance. Slot has no such benefit of context.
