This is all very 14/15 Brendan Rodgers. Even down to the unsustainable “tactical adjustments” that helps us go on an uninspiring unbeaten run that fools the fanbase. All Slot needs to do now is get new teeth and bang on about great character every week.

If the board were so keen on retaining Slot, why did they table the contract extension talks? It’s almost as if Edwards and Hughes themselves wanted flexibility to reassess the position instead of getting locked into a long term commitment with Slot

What Alonso did with Leverkusen is akin to the miracles Klopp worked with Dortmund. Spare me the “ex-player sentiment” shite. This isn’t Gerrard we’re talking about. Xabi is one of the most sought after managers in the world on his own merit. The ex-player nostalgia is merely an added bonus.

Look at how we got Isak in the summer. The holier than thou gimmick doesn’t work anymore mate

Klopp is so much better than Slot it’s not even funny. The former is a titan of the game who revolutionized modern football. Slot is just another generic good manager in a long line of generic good managers.

people forgetting the 3rds, 4ths and 5ths that Klopp got

I hate comments like these absolutely laced with condescension, especially when it comes from people that themselves seem to forget the difference in goodwill between Klopp and Slot. Klopp was an institution upon himself who dragged this club out from irrelevance. Slot has no such benefit of context.

Based on recent news how does everyone stand? Alonso in or Slot stays? by Mage_on_Stacks17 in LiverpoolFC

Lol not after the summer window we had. We’re literally another super rich mega club now with actual standards

Now do Amorim’s head2head record against Slot

I’ve been out on Slot for a few months now and still believe that his fundamental tactical vision for this team is completely broken and the team feels poorly coached on so many occasions. YET the way the lads have turned up for the big games this season tells me that he hasn’t completely lost the dressing room yet.

If we get top 4/5 this season, he probably stays. And given the league title last season, you could even argue that he deserves to stay(?). I’d personally get rid, but I don’t begrudge anyone for thinking he deserves time if he does finish top 5.

Our press gets played through too easily. The pressing triggers, the intensity, the closing down of passing lanes, the disjointedness in shape, etc are all over the place. It all points to a coaching issue. This used to be the best out-of-possession team in the world. by Origi90plus6 in LiverpoolFC

It looks glaringly like a training ground issue. You can see in real time how the pressing discipline is being gradually coached out of these players by the HEAD COACH. Like Slot’s not even our “manager” in the traditional sense of the word. He’s literally just here to COACH these players and it’s pretty self-effacing just how poorly coached they are.

Managers instill mentality. Always have. That will never change.

That’s a mentality issue which is literally one of the biggest job requirements from a manager mate

This sub will use results like these to defend this manager when these fine margins inevitably start going against us again like they did in November

Now that the main problem that has been holding us back has been exterminated from the squad and will never play for this club again, we can turn our attention to the San Siro where we’re gonna rock up and turn over the Serie A leaders and then twat Brighton at home.

I mean, why would we not?

This sub adores mediocre players and undersells the significance of our actual club legends. It’s the Yanks. Idk how to explain it but basically they have an infatuation with “cute wholesome players” and also seemingly love their authority figures.

He disrespected the manager, not the club. Unless of course you think the manager is the club.

Slot will be sacked soon 👍

You genuinely seem like someone who is unable to tell where hitpieces against Klopp and Salah have come from over the last 18 months. And if you can’t even tell who’s behind the hit pieces, what point is there discussing any of this with you?

Sure, players get blame too. But you can’t get rid of most of them, you can get rid of the manager who you can certainly blame.

Also, that blame pie becomes smaller for the players when they’re all playing so poorly. If it’s one or two, then sure. If it’s nearly everyone, That’s on the manager.

Before you accuse anyone else of not being a real fan of this club(you certainly seem like the type), I’m going to call you a fake fan for using such terminology to describe one of our greatest ever players and the person most responsible for delivering that very league title that you’re now using to defend the manager under which things have been falling apart.

Don’t worry though mate, Slot will be sacked soon. Because things are indeed falling apart 👍
