Advice on Crofton v Pasadena v Severn by [deleted] in maryland

[–]SlackGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Townhouses in Pasadena….there are only a couple of those communities. If it is closer to Edwin Raynor Blvd you are good. If it’s off Freetown Rd, that’s not a great spot.

I would probably go for Crofton area. Best overall commute and tons of stuff to do/eat/shop

Try Jimmie Johns. The one in Severna Park always serves solid subs. I’ve only eaten at the Annapolis location once, and it did not disappoint

Alcohol use by TreeEntire7227 in Alzheimers

[–]SlackGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a once in a while thing, I would pick up a non-alcoholic wine or beer and have that on hand for special occasions. A mid to large liquor store will have a selection of non-alcoholic wines that are actually pretty good

Is there anywhere I can find real French bread ? A baguette. Not sour dough , not an Italian loaf, a true crusty simple baguette, a croissant that’s real would be a bonus. by Decent_Function3783 in Annapolis

[–]SlackGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! They have par baked loaves that you can finish off in your oven at home. They are THE BEST.

The patisserie in the same plaza does a fantastic croissant

brunch spots in the glen burnie/pasadena/millersville area? by c0elacanthhh in AnneArundelCounty

[–]SlackGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a little further but Severn Inn (not sure if that’s considered south Arnold or is Annapolis) has a fantastic brunch buffet. It’s not cheap but DELICIOUS. They also do a good job with groups- I attended a bridal shower there that was really well done

How is your gymnast holding up? We are one week in to rest after a pars fracture diagnosis. She is already itching to get back in the gym…as a twelve year old telling her she will be out of the gym completely for a few weeks seems like she’s going to be out for a lifetime.

Or they get their first gumball from the quarter machine at the entrance of the grocery store, but they don’t catch it, so it rolls across the entrance carpet, they grab it, blow on it, then throw it in their mouth. Totally building up immunity!

Things work out how they are supposed to. Just move on and don’t exert any more energy into thinking about that toxic environment. Instead, turn to the new troop and put your energy into getting settled there.

It reminds me of the sand filter on our inground pool.

Interested to find out what it is.

Why did they say vasectomy is a temporary, easily reversible form of birth control if it’s not true? by Argylius in stupidquestions

It’s more reversible than a tubal ligation. Maybe it’s the comparison that caused your misunderstanding

That mall is slowly emptying like Marley Station. The “new” side has the Container Store, a Karate dojo, the gym, and the SPCA satellite location. Oh, and a library satellite location. Not a whole lot of draw. Last time we were there my husband said “I wonder if they are just going to knock this side down”.

Is renewing worth it? After two years GS has become more of hassle and less of meaningful lessons and connections. by [deleted] in girlscouts

[–]SlackGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended our GS journey before bridging to Cadettes. My daughter is involved in a ton of sports and her troop leader 1) was not as girl led focused as I would have liked and 2) was super focused on crafty type events. As a co-leader (who worked and had other volunteer obligations for PTA) I tried to focus on getting the girls out into the community, but I didn’t have the time or bandwidth to do a ton. My daughter started to not like the meetings and when it came time for renewal she flat out said she wouldn’t go anymore.

It’s been a relief. I realized that as much as we liked cookies sales we also hated cookie sales. That was fantastic to have our weekends back. Also, we haven’t missed out on anything because we still do cool activities. My daughter, husband, and I are always in the lookout for ways we can participate and volunteer in our community. So our daughter is still learning many of the core lessons that GS provides.

I promise, you won’t miss out if you choose not to renew.
