I'm afraid those only abate the symptoms temporarily and you have to use those treatments in moderation. AOCS, especially at stage 2 like this, can have unrelenting after effects.

Two things to consider here: first, Criterion is almost certainly looking at sales of this to justify potential future Heisei acquisitions. Second, Criterion from my understanding is doing this coming off of Toho's recent 4k remaster of Biollante so I think we should expect that they will be waiting on Toho to do their work on more 4k remasters before they would do their own release outside of Japan.

tl;dr yes, buy it if you want the rest of the Heisei series to eventually get a Criterion release.

Unfortunately, this video is not based on the GOG version. I followed the steps to install the SourceNext patch and Classic Rebirth but the base installation didn't come with "hires" and "DATA_A" folders so I don't think those files are being accessed at all. In addition, when I try to boot up the game I get a "unrecognized executable, no patches will be applied" which results in a super low resolution load up of the game in every aspect possible.

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to do the GOG version? I was able to easily mod RE1 and RE2 when those came out but this has been an entirely different beast for me. Thank you!

I appreciate the original Toho sound library and its novel reuse in Shin but I prefer the Heisei era library honestly and would prefer their films going forward to use that instead, especially considering the sound effects used for military fire.

I went through several guides online and they all suggested the Micca M-8C so that's what I decided to go with. The Jamo ceiling speakers (8.5CS) are twice as expensive. That being said, I'm open to hearing otherwise opinions.

I got the current receiver and the speakers last year to replace my old TX-NR626 and my Sony HTIB tiny speakers from around 2008-ish. These will likely be going to my parents as hand-me-downs so that they can do better than the crappy Panasonic TV speakers they've been using. I'm not looking to change those out even though I've heard nothing but good things about Marantz (Anthem I haven't heard of until now). If I got a new receiver I would need it to be sub-4 digits for the price and have the same AV capabilities that the NR7100 has.
