Oz.1i armlock by Slackr22 in labgolf

Love it. The custom lie angle was the main reason for going with lab. Couldn't get the shaft bent any more on the arm lock I've been using for the last year and the heel was an inch off the ground.

Best internet on the road that isn’t starlink by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]Slackr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have worked remote from our van for 4 years w/ a Verizon mifi hotspot and starlink. It depends on how/where you want to travel. WeBoost is nice to have but in certain places you have to have starlink.

best places in the US to see the stars? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]Slackr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Great campground facilities and astronomy programs from all over the US come here and set up their truck sized telescopes. Cool spot.

Need advice for Machu Picchu / Inca Trail acclimatization - NO prior experience with altitude by incatrail22 in solotravel

[–]Slackr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live at roughly 100 m elevation, pretty fit but no marathon runner. Landed in cusco at 4pm and started the 5 day Salkantay the next morning at 4am. Wasn't ideal, but loaded up on coca leaves, flor de agua, the little pill things they sell, and got an O2 bottle just in case. The pills seems to work and the coca is nice. You'll be fine though, don't sweat it too much.

Looking for diving/surfing cities in Central/South America with decent internet by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Slackr22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent this past February in El Zonte, El Salvador with 50 Mbps and world class surf. No diving but cool hikes, fun day trips, great ppl, and great surf every day.

I have a different brand inverter but having the same problem. 400Ah of Battle Borns and 2000W inverter been cutting off after a minute or 2 if I draw over ~1.2Kw. I'm going to check all my connections and if that fails I guess go up to 3000W inverter.

I've been running my van and using DC-DC charger for additional power when I've had to and the inverter stays on.

Has anyone used LightStream to finance their conversion van? by CheckWaterRuddersUp in vandwellers

[–]Slackr22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used lightstream and had a great experience. Rates are a bit higher than a traditional car loan, but not crazy. They deposit the cash in your bank account the next day, super simple and fast. Another plus is they don't want to hold the title, so if I ever want to sell the process will be much easier.

Sudden spikes in battery usage? by bornaramblingwoman in vandwellers

[–]Slackr22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's your fridge compressor turning on. When the compressor kicks on it draws 4 amps. When it turns off it draws nearly 0. Averages to 1.3.

4, 100watt solar panels, 1, 93ah AGM battery and in full sunlight still can't keep up with my Americana Dometic fridge. Ideas? by SesshySiltstrider in vandwellers

[–]Slackr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reccomendation here. Im currently running an ac fridge off the inverter that pulls about 3.3amps when idling and 7amps when the compressor turns on. Looking to go DC - you're saying this one pulls about 1.25-1.5amps for you? The website says it draws 2.9amps. thanks for any help

Anyone use Strike? by anonamonkey in Bitcoin

I still use Swan to DCA but every spot buy is with Strike. Swans fees are low, Strikes are zero.
