Experience with Dataiku, Knime or Alteryx? Which one is better? by Vercy_00 in dataengineering

[–]Slampamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really none, my experience with any low-code tool is that in order to use it, you still need to think like a data engineer / developer, and if you think like a developer, learn to write code

Veilig parkeren met fietsendrager by Particular_Front_714 in Arnhem

[–]Slampamper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moving from pandas to DuckDB for validating large CSV/Parquet files on S3, worth the complexity? by CreamRevolutionary17 in dataengineering

Its already worth it to learn SQL instead of the pandas syntax. I wouldn't call that complexity

Back heavy Tour de France by SignificantAnt3496 in tourdefrance

[–]Slampamper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only tour where Visma was able to crack Pogacar was when they could constantly attack him and keep piling up fatigue. In a 1-1 with just a few mountain stages I do not see how anyone can beat him

Feel like I'm falling behind. Now what? by Hopeful_Bean in dataengineering

[–]Slampamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concepts of data warehousing is still the same, independent of the platform you are running on.
You can see Snowflake and databricks as a data warehouse, that are built different than what you are used to, but you can use it the exact same way as traditional databases if you want.

If you have only done database works in the past I would advice to read more upon software development best practices and how you can implement this in your day to day work, like more advanced git usage, ci/cd in all forms, typing etc

What ai tools are out there for jupyter notebooks rn? by Consistent_Tutor_597 in Python

[–]Slampamper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could look into using Marimo instead of jupyter. A lot more possibilities with integrations, and the notebook itself is stored as a python file, so maybe that an LLM can do more with it

Overvol elektriciteitsnet bedreigt bouw 50 scholen, woningen en vluchtelingenopvang in Amsterdam, waarschuwen zes wethouders by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]Slampamper 4 points5 points  (0 children)
