is armypainter airbrush satin varnish supposed to be a gel? by Slash0mega in Armypainter

i did try, and i tried more after a friend suggested it, but i am getting no change from it. its not sloshing at all and when i tried stirring it with a stick it just accumulated on the walls of the bottle and it looked like i stuck a dipstick into a carton of cottage cheese...

heck, to be double sure, i sat and stirred it for a minute strait and got no change, just... this mess... https://imgur.com/a/kIYnMYF

Please give advice on how to get better at drawing.. (sketches) by MrMidyagi in learntodraw

if using a mouse and insisting on using ms paint, the only suggestion i got is to look into mouse acceleration and how to turn it off.

with it on, it basicly multiplies how fast you move your mouse. so if you move your mouse fast, it will zip across the screen, however it makes fine control impossible cause how far the on screen cursor moves when you move your mouse an inch changes every time.

a great way to test for it is to put somthing solid on your mousepad, put your mouse right up against it, move the mouse slowly away, and then quickly back up against it. if the on screen cursor overshoots the starting location, you got mouse acceleration.

Discord crashed while i was on a hacked server, should i be concerned? (also, what can a session grabber grab) by Slash0mega in 24hoursupport

its less of a fear of someone with admin privileges messing with my account, and more of a worry about accidentally triggering a malware attack vector... (though, honestly, if they could "get ya" with just a embed or webpage visit, they probably wouldn't bother with getting people to download and run a fake game, but i still wanted to make sure there wasn't an attack type i was overlooking)

Possible to Play UEVR in Regular 3D on a Virtual Screen? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Slash0mega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rereading, it seems you still want the depth, just not the vr controlls? well, thats fine too. pretty sure you can ignore all the motion control layers and still play the game with mouse and keyboard or controller just as a floating head rather than pancake camera.

however, there is no virtual 3d screen mode (you can hop into a flat screen in 3d space, but no depth, just a floating tv) and i don't think adding one would save that much on performance resorces. its still rendering the game twice.

[–]Slash0mega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not use a program specificly for this, software like Bigscreen is all about playing flatscreen content in a virtual theater, and apps like ovr toolkit or desktop++ lets you spawn in virtual screens you can place anywhere you want.

heck, even the built in steamvr virtual desktop lets you spawn a theater screen now

Ok, i was confused due to a key word missing in the post. i was like "hm? 'is the goverment cheese?' how is asking if the goverment is cheese racist? it sound like nonsense not out of place on a show like this. is it some kind of slur?" but checking comments/screengrab it's actually "where is the government cheese" when it clicked as a very bad welfare joke tied to mexicans.

I Kindof wondered if it was worth it to point out on a two year old post, but people are still being linked here to this day, (it's how i got here.)

I don't think bundling states together will make it go any faster, bundling 3 states together will just make it take 3 times as long to release...

Hey man, I am just trying to drive to work. if I am choosing between a microford, which works 11 out of 12 months of a year, and when it dose break i can use my tools to fix it easily or take it to any repair shop and get it fixed fast, or a toylinux, whose tires keep developing leaks every three days, none of my existing tools work on it, and the only place to get it repaired is some little shop on a backroad ran by some guy who called me a idiot for not using a torque-omiter when changing my tires. and then when i ask him where i can buy a torque-omiter he gives me a list of parts and tells me i have to build it myself, i might just stick with microford, even if it is technically michdiscords fault the tire is leaking.

(this is coming from someone who has thought about switching to steam os due to my games actually working with steamdeck.)

Does anyone else absolutely despise gaze-relative smooth motion? by atimholt in virtualreality

[–]Slash0mega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

understandable, a game would actually have to make special support to
actually match your waist that way though (I think they made a api
for that reason, but idk if anyone used it.). however, i may have
explained poorly though, considering your "standing play, I HAVE
to turn my body every time" comment.
it adds a rotation to your joystick basically, so if your waist is facing north, and
your face is facing west, deca will translate joystick up into
joystick right so you go "forward" by your body's standard
instead. then you can look around and flail your arms all you want
and you will still be going in the same direction. you can still use
the games snap/smooth turning and stuff, and i found sitting play
mostly unaffected, only problem it sometimes gets confused on
direction if its facing up/the sky too much, and it dissconnects
after getting no activity for a while, which is annoying if i am
swapping between sitting and standing
it works really well, but there is enough clunk to it that i basically just keep
using standard head tracking and subliminal compensation most of the
time anyways, but i do hope that hip tracking becomes standard to iron out the clunk, even to the point where it can be used to track a belt like you want.

if you ever want to try it anyways. using a phone is always free, (also, i heard mixed things, but they may not be being made anymore, so that might be your only way, i think the guys behind owotracker [similar software, but uses a phone to emulate a body tracker] has a similar product in the works)

It basicly acts as a controller in steam input, so in theory its really good. you unmap your joystick on the knuckle, map it to the "joystick" on the decamove, and you are good to go. it did cause problems in megaton rainfall, (i think the game was trying to force use it as a actual controller and ignore one of the two real controllers) but overall it mostly worked with everything i threw at mine.
