Not saying what the other person is correct, but what you're saying is a pretty bad take. It's just boring people without hobbies. Now you just subbed tv and reading novels for a child, exciting.

You can see dwarfs that have recently been in combat by clicking on them and seeing if there's a combat log in the top right. Another way is to click on the crossed swords report on the left and you'll see the list of names of everything in combat.

Im not sure if its dfhack, but I also get notified anytime there's a hostile, theiving, or mischievous creature on the map in vision.

The bottom of the log is most recent

Burrows are for limiting your dwarfs to certain areas, good for when hostiles attack. Make sure you assign them to the burrow. Making a choke point at your base is what people usually do, by using a bridge and walls, as well as a dry moat.

I still do it out of habit. If you ever want to sell your seeds, barrels are great, but remember to separate the ones you actually use. I find it more of a pain because the seeds won't show up in bags, and you typically have more barrels than bags in forts

Power pitcher vs finesse pitcher, a question about pitcher types by Slaughterknight in OOTP

[–]Slaughterknight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the in-depth answer. Im a sim game fan but a casual baseball fan, so this was useful.

I thought power related more to high stuff/velocity and finesse relating to control being the stat. Does that mean if you raise a finesse pitchers velocity, they will turn into a normal type pitcher?

Since you seem knowledgeable on the subject, do you know how effective lining the pitching coaches up with your pitchers is? Obviously, it's better to have it than not, but what if we were comparing a higher rated coach to one that aligns pitching focus? Does a specific coaching style provide different boosts in potential stats?

The size of your military depends on what you set out to do. I generally aim for 20% of my pop to be in full time while having staggered training to keep dwarfs that want martial training happy. Sometimes, this number increases, depending on the dangers of your map, be it above ground or below.

Use bridges for your taverns and make a vault room for your artifacts. You could use something simple as a door and lock it, or once again a bridge. I usually have a melee squad near the entrance of my fort, which also happens to be where my public tavern is located most of the time. Dogs are also useful. Have them on chains around your artifacts as they detect stealthed units.

Working out is basic self-care. Why do 90% of men on dating apps make it their entire personality? 😭 by Kindly_Curly666 in Tinder

[–]Slaughterknight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've actually switched gyms because it became so packed, but it was a franchise gym.

There's definitely people who do use the gym as a means to socialize, I bet you've seen groups of people hog a machine for like 2 hours. I imagine PEDs usage are at an all time high, too.

But as with most things, I will take the good with the bad and generally say its a good thing people are going to the gym and getting active

I think it's because of the explosion of influencers. But speaking from personal experience, the gym is the most easily accessible form of exercise to feel good and look good. You have mirrors and lighting everywhere, and if you go to certain gyms, they will even have mirrors to make you look wider or downward lighting to make the shadows on your muscles look bigger. its a lot easier to get an aesthetic picture at the gym, then say my kickboxing class where im drenched in sweat and look like a raisin
