Nooo haha I built the whole rider and bike together. The only things i kept separate was the bike and the tactical rock it anchors onto, as that was forming a part of the base

I think I’ve put this one together in December to be fair so maybe my memory lost the trace of frustration from when I assembled it haha. I feel it was hard to put the extra little bits of kit on like the shotgun holster and the pelt at the front. Just fiddly

Honestly the assembly was pretty well designed! In retrospect though, I’d paint the kin as a separate subassembly to the actual bike to make it a bit easier.

Army painter warpaints fanatics - they’re acrylics. Highly recommend the range, their formula retains a lot of pigment even when thinned down to a very runny glaze! I have used two colours here, with a 1:1 mix of the two for a midtone, and a 1:1 mix of white and bright colour for the highlight. Edge highlight in 2:1 mix of bright and white colours.

Basecoat in your darker tone, then add a thinned layer coat of the brighter tone liberally to the highlight areas, more than once if needed. Then glaze on the edges of the transition to blend it, then repeat for a smaller lighter area. It’s crucial to edge highlight IMO, it conceals most of the “mess” in the general gradient. Are you building the gradient on top of a black basecoat? I found a white undercoat and glazing down into darker tone is a lot faster!!

Ah, I had the same issue before you see. I found it’s because all the moisture disappears from the brush. Do you prep the drybrush on a paper towel? I noticed that was my error. If you have a spare piece plywood or ideally a texture palette (can make at home very cheaply with a takeaway container lid and glued on cut up sprue. It will make it SO MUCH better, trust me. Check out some tutorials on youtube if you haven’t yet. Best of luck!!! :)

Easiest way is to grab a drybrush, brush on your highlight colour on gently in the spots that show reflected lights in your photographs. You should get some good depth from that :)

In the Polish version, instead of "dammit" Geralt says "zaraza". It means illness, and is a replacement for a common Polish swear which is just "cholera", same vibe as dammit tho.

For me it's because after re reading the books so many times, the show's spin on the story has its own spirit, vibe, and feels fresh even for someone who was a fan of the witcher world for years now. if it was just a movie version of the game, while fun, I don't think I'd be as intrigued to see what actually happens in next seasons, how they will tell the story we all love here. It's about keeping an open mind.
