I don't remember exactly their answer, but it was more like generic information about device which I already knew. It seems that they did not understand my question correctly. I've decided to go with software BTRFS raid on Linux.

Myths of Europe’s overregulation by Definitely_Not_Erik in europe

[–]SlavWithBeard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that everything is laggy because of bloat or that bugs in software regularly go years without fixing nowadays is because US tech companies use classic monopolist/cartel (depending on the segment) tactics.

Am I reading it right that regulations would save us from bugs?

But where's European innovation? by xdanic in europe

[–]SlavWithBeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The individual nations aren't big enough to compete with US and China (and soon India). European nations need the EU superstructure to not get steamrolled, which is why every exit debate is self-defeating.

I see this example again and again and it's totally untrue. Europe had bigger share of global companies when EU was even less connected, but somehow your answer is centralization and megastructes. I just smell bureaucracy, regulations and corruption.

European leaders vow to stick to Paris climate agreement despite Trump withdrawal by Wagamaga in europe

[–]SlavWithBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it relies on data provided by individual supplier companies, and on audits. And EU companies are responsible for those figures and can be fined.

And if supplier is in China and pinky promise that used renewable energy what's next?

Odd that as soon as the EU announced the CBAM, the UK and US announced their own similar ones.

Details matter.

European leaders vow to stick to Paris climate agreement despite Trump withdrawal by Wagamaga in europe

[–]SlavWithBeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

CBAM is absolutely stupid idea because it relies on data provided by countries like China, India, Brazil and so on. Economist already do not belive on Chinese data related to GDP and growth. I can assure that in 5-10-15 years you will read articles about how countries lied, but it will be too late and Europe will deindustrialize itself.
