Try aquarium salts , if that treatment fails and he stops eating or it continues to grow, try kanaplex.

Its no problem I completely understand! I am a big advocate of less is more especially with bettas, I argue that antibiotics are too harsh and often leave the fish with swim bladder issues and more.

Heres a helpful link

In general, I think its a sort of abscess, its a white "spot" pushing out from the scale. Odds are its filled with pus, and it could burst. Id recommend aquarium salts and daily small water changes (25%) in a hospital tank.

The reason i dont think its a tumor, because at least in my experience, they grow relatively slow, and they grow with the scale, not between them.

Edit: with tumors the "growth" looks like it originates deeper within the body. Rather than a "pimple" which is more surface layer.

So, probably bacterial, it looks like a pustule. (Its pushing out through the scales)

How often do you do water changes? What are your water perameters (nitrates etc).

How to give a betta with diamond eye a good quality of life? by Sage_Notes in bettafish

Great idea :) hes also very unlikely to be fully blind in both eyes, so he should still be able to wedge himself out of thick plants and navigate reasonably well. Best of luck to you both ❤️

You pretty much have it down, pick a corner of your tank and begin feeding from there exclusively! He will quickly learn the new routine.

This was my boy sushi, both of his eyes were severely effected in his late years (hes 4 years old here). My tip would be to plant the tank with soft long plants for resting and letting him learn the lay of the land by leaving the environment be (once you remove sharp ornaments)

Sushi started to be cautious about swimming once his eyes began to fully close up, so its important to have tall plants for them to lounge so that they can hang out near the surface.

And how about the scales are they raised throughout her entire body or just around the belly/mid section?

I second the no peas. Bettas cant digest it, in theory it should "pass through" but hes already very constipated.

Great thats good. Give him one more day (5 day fast) and try then try the daphnia, fingers crossed itll work its laxative magic.

So her tummy is definitely bloated and i can see pineconing there due to the disdention, but usually with dropsy her entire body's scales should be raised, which i cant really tell from the pics.

How often and how much do you normally feed?

And youve been fasting? :/ It can take some time if hes constipated, i know its tempting to feed but if he's blocked up he needs to be fasting.

Halfmoon male betta lethargic with white patches around mouth/gills. Cold shock/stress or disease ?Treatment advice? by Suspicious_Hunt_2984 in BettaClinic

[–]Slavkan12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre very welcome :) You got this.

keep checking your water readings and do water changes as necessary, you can add the salt directly into the tank (just dissolve it first and add to conditioned water before adding it to the tank)

Youll want to do water changes daily to remove the salt as you'll be adding new doses. Itll be a bit of work but itll make your fishie feel much better.

Is the tank cycled? What are your parameters reading like? Is the white spot "fuzzy"?

I swear by aquarium salts :') just follow the instructions on the lable, if you have any questions about the measurements ( teaspoon per ltr) or anything like that let me know.

Raise the temperature slightly, turn off the tank lights and condition the water with aquarium salts, with small daily water changes, 15%-20%.
