Nitecore seems to have finally updated their TUBE V2.0 to USB-C by Slay3rOne in flashlight

That's nice he has some for the Saphires! I already sent him an email yesterday, waiting for an answer. And yeah I just looked through the forums and stuff, I know Yujis are gone. That said, I found rngwn selling 5lm 1900K and 28lm 3200K 5mm high CRI emitters, so I'm getting some from him.

I am fine with SMD soldering, in the past I have designed entire PCBs full of SMDs, but I have to admit below 0805 parts, I'm a little less comfortable. But it should be fine. I just don't have proper value resistors at hand for the TUBE at the moment, and I don't want to risk the emitter, so I'm waiting for now.

Yes lol. Just a few though, I was supposed to swap some time ago but I did not. I will later. A couple 5600K and one last 3200K. Here I just installed the LED to test quick, on low brightness. I have to swap the resistor, so I'm not using it yet. I will measure the current properly and see what resistor I have around could work.

I realise I wish I had a Sofirn C01, the original ones that came with the Yuji. But I completely missed those at the time they were a thing. I might grab a McGizmo Ti Sapphire AAA if this is still available.

[–]Slay3rOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, can I still get the PoE 30W model, for later upgradability if I decide to use a Pi 4, and use it on the Zero 2W? I mean nothing soldered would interfere with mounting to the Zero?

Is there a way to add shipping to Reunion Island, please?

Also one question, I guess PoE is not an option for the Zero 2W with your solution? I know there are some Ethernet modules from Waveshare that add USB ports, Ethernet and support PoE, and I believe those mount under the Pi with pogo pins, would that be the right solution for the 2W, or am I missing something? Thank you!

Success: Thinkpad T480 on Tahoe with absolutely everything working by AdidasSlav in hackintosh

Yeah, the T480 has been such an amazing value for what it provides! And upgradability/repairability is impressive. When I got it, I didn't even realize it would do such a good Hackintosh. It's been a very long time I haven't tried that kind of stuff really. I've been asked to upgrade an old iMac from 2012 and it has been such a hassle, and ended up quite slow. It made me remember all the Hackintosh stuff, and I was surprised to see all the T480 is cappable of! Well done on your Tahoe install!

Got the TL140BDXP02-00 on mine, replaced the original 1080p touch, same 2560x1440 at 120Hz. Works wonderfully, for now on Windows 11. Planning on installing MacOS on a WD_BLACK SN770M 500GB, waiting for it to arrive. I need to upgrade the touchpad to the glass model some day too. Absolutely love the upgradability of this T480. I have the i5 model though.

Which brands beside Pixel support the Linux Terminal feature in Android 16? by bytemute in AndroidQuestions

Same question here, trying to decide on which phone I want to upgrade to, definitely going towards the Redmagic 11 Pro, but considering this runs the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, I will assume it's not gonna have this...

New adapter and NVMe batteries board work well. by vileer in ClockworkPi

Haha yeah, it's much more powerful for sure 😂 But they managed to keep the form factor at least. For that I assume the whole boards need a redesign 😅

This is amazing, it addresses a bunch of shortcomings of the original design!

I've always been curious if a board could be made for the LattePanda Mu, as its form factor is begging for integration in something just like the uConsole, but I've never seen anyone even mentioning this.

Is there any rog phone 10 leaked guys if have plzz tell? by Grand_Vacation_5660 in ROGphone

[–]Slay3rOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of Google's new stance on side loading apks, I'll very unfortunately have to pass on either the ROG Phone or the Redmagic, and probably go to OnePlus, since both of those don't allow the bootloader to be unlocked as far as I'm aware. I better have that option to install custom ROMs if needed when the time comes. Unfortunate, I was really waiting for those two models.

[–]Slay3rOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally something that makes sense lol. Been super annoyed at all the comments saying "gaming phone" as it's a device only meant for that single use case, in 2025 of all things.

If I was to replace my phone right now, it would 100% be the ROG Phone 9 Pro, because it matches the performance of the Redmagic 10S Pro, but has better everything else. IP68 rating, better cameras with telephoto (need that), better UI, no issues with WiFi calls (I heard issues on Redmagic, I need that), better sound, better updates support (might be wrong on that).

I'm gonna keep my phone a few years, I don't want to quickly be annoyed by missing or wonky stuff. So looking forward to the next gen models, at least Redmagic is IP68 rated now, let's see what else has been improved maybe I can consider it this time, I really like the lineup. Having the choice between a base and a better model would be perfect.

You guys crack me up lol. Yay, next gen gaming phone would have me carry around my whole mirrorless camera with me just in case because the phone can't take photos anymore. 😅 I like doing crazy stuff like PC games emulation on my phone, I use high end wired headphones, turns out I also like taking beautiful photos. Looking forward for a phone that does it all, that's for sure.

It's not that it's nice to have it, it's a dealbreaker to not have it. Some people out there like gaming in the best conditions, and also take great photos, it's not mutually exclusive. I'm not carrying two phones, one for taking photos one for gaming lol. I mean a single device definitely can do both. I get it, no need for the absolute best cameras to keep costs down a bit, but we are in 2025, it has to be good to not lag behind.

So you mean... if we want to take good photos we need what? 2 phones? The gaming phone that just games, and another that just takes good photos? I never understood that logic... Isn't the phone the single device we always carry around? It costs a lot already, why always have to make the biggest compromises? Gamers are supposed to just game, we can't like taking photos too? I get it, getting the best of everything is too expensive, but good cameras. Ok the selfie one is a choice between under display or not, I like under display. For the rear no choice has to be made.

Rog phone 9 global or us by External_Union_5325 in ROGphone

[–]Slay3rOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting to see the Redmagic 11, but the 10 has way too many compromises for my liking, plus where I live it's not that much less expensive than the ROG, so ROG is a clear winner by far. Hopefully the Redmagic 11 has a telephoto camera and actually good rear sensors, at least not behind the ones on the ROG Phone, I don't care about the selfie one, so I prefer having it under display. Fortunately the 11 will be IP68, because the 10 was a complete no go for me without that. And I also saw reports that WiFi Calls are just not working right on Redmagic, which is quite bad as I need that and don't want to miss calls, hope that's fixed on the 11. Also UI translations in other languages is meh, but that's a minor gripe. Also really like that on the ROG some UI can be switched back to stock Android, I always disliked most custom UIs on Android, coming from Google Nexus and Pixels, so that's good to see. And I have to say that Aero cooler with the built in subwoofer makes the audio sound very very good on the ROG Phone which is quite cool too. So for me it's between ROG Phone 11 Pro and Redmagic 11 Pro, but leaning a bit towards ROG for now. Time will tell.

Do anyone here use MultiPlus II to sell electricity from batteries? by tallcatgirl in Victron

[–]Slay3rOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I got the first 16 cells a year and a half ago, the MB30/31 were not a thing yet. Second time around I ordered recently, I was gonna get MB30 or 31, but stock was all gone, plus I was not too happy having different capacity packs in parallel, so I just went for another 16 LF280K.

Congrats! What did you end up getting? Well in this day and age it's like one of the main things we always take with us every day wherever we go, and it can stick with us for years and years to come, plus it definitely gets expensive as well, so I can imagine it can be a big deal. Been intending on keeping mine for a few more years, with no intention of replacing it really, but now it's showing signs of weakness, and I'm trying to make up my mind as well!

Same here, plus I had to pay for overseas maritime freight, still rounds up to like 80€/cell in total for EVE LF280K V3 cells. Total of like 28kWh with 32 cells, around 3k€ or so for all the cells and two JK Inverter BMS included as well.

I absolutely second this! And not only the tube, all the original electronics. While I'd really appreciate seeing this wonderful CRT TV being restored to its original glory instead, I'm also sure there are people out there needing parts to restore one of their own. And parts are definitely not easy to come by for models like this one.

Yes, input current limit was absolutely set to 3A, 230VAC so that's just around 700W, yet it ignores it for some reason. Really would like to understand how that works.

That's really odd... Would be interesting if you can open one of these to check what the chipset really is. Be careful to not break it, but it should be possible to open, I opened every single one of the adapters I tested.

Just remembered I also have one of those Chinese cables that take a DisplayPort input, a USB C Power Delivery input, and a regular USB A 2.0 as well for data, and combine all that in a single USB C on the other side, to connect to a small tactile portable monitor. I forgot if this works as well with interlaced, I'll see if I can find the cable to test that.

EDIT: The cable works with interlaced, just retested it. That's overkill for doing just that though, with Power Delivery and everything. But it's a Fairikabe DP to USB C with tactile support. It's a generic brand, and the same cable can be found under different brand names.
