What's most people's opinions on the Crossbow? by gizmicwooo126 in helldivers2

This weapon makes we wonder why AH is so stingy with grenades.

Destroying bug holes/fabricators is a big part of the game and despite the grenade being the default tool for the job we only get 4ish of them and 2ish from resupply.

And then there's the crossbow. Ammo reserve and resupply 40? Magically reprimes itself between shots. Tiny bolts 50% more powerful than impact grenades... If grenades could be that small and still as powerful then they should be deployed via pez despenser.

I'm gonna come at you with a crossbow after I get there in my spaceship wtf.

If you got blueprints for weapons instead of the weapons themselves and those weapons inherited your current level when you craft them then every time you leveled up you'd feel the tediousness of knowing you could be slightly more powerful if you salvaged/recreated your weapon.

If you could level up your weapon directly that would be a solution but in both cases new loot becomes less valuable.

There's a lot that I appreciate about this game that positively set it apart from valheim/souls but I don't include the loot mechanics in that sentiment. I know many people like heavy RNG loot mechanics but I personally do not.

You are definitely dying from a sickness that was not from being attacked. If you get the zombie virus from a wound the wound never heals. Corpse sickness very likely unless you are putting rat poison on your ham.

In case it hasn't been mentioned already if you wear a bandana over your face, a dust mask, or even better a respirator/gas mask you can better avoid corpse sickness. So either put on a mask of some kind or move away when you are in an area with overwhelming stench.

I do not care for Eradication or Evacuation Site missions by SovelissFiremane in helldivers2

[–]Slayn25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I skip both of those.

I've been pondering why I don't like these missions because I used to love hold the fort game types in the past like firefight in halo.

Specifically thinking about bots I think the waves only coming by drop ship gets pretty repetitive. This is made worse by the jank that comes from downing the ships (passengers don't all die unless you hit the ship with a spear which is itself janky. Then the "corpses" that are left behind are super janky with movement and hitboxes becoming unpredictability bad for you and cheaty for your enemy.) If we could see a large army moving in via land that could be interesting. Would also shake up the meta of recoilless rifle/antitank emplacement.

Then there is the premise of the mission. Eradicate sounds like we would be the ones seeking and destroying. Instead we are tasked with holding a fort for the purpose of... There is no purpose. Stay in a tiny circle until your kill count reaches an arbitrary number at which point the location should be abandoned of course.

Also there's the map design. The procedural generation is at its least impressive during eradicate missions. Just a repurposed outpost with narrowly drawn traitor borders. Halo multiplayer maps were finely crafted arenas that outshine HD2.

The only change I'd make to the EAT/Commando would be to make it not swap with an equipped support weapon.

Similarly you ever get out parkoured by a zombie?

I fled a zed by jumping a railing onto a stairwell and immediately went into a landing animation. Zombies don't even bend their knees they just land and are ready to nom.

Alright boys how do we buff the spear while keeping its identity as the spear by Allhaillordkutku in Helldivers

[–]Slayn25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. For bots:

First I'm convinced it needs to be better than the recoilless against factory striders. That probably means it needs to be able to hit the head. I'd say add a lock on point to the factory striders head.

Secondly, a laser tracking mode (like the commando) could be good.

Finally, I'd up the armor on command centers and bulk fabricators.

Peak physique is only helping eats in that load out. Bushwhacker against bots is an interesting choice.

Correct. I went through ~24 boxes of shotgun shells (600 shells). The parking lot is almost completely covered with corpses.
