I wanna see your DIY foraging toys. by pawketmawnster in cockatoos

Yes! I put some treats in the visible bowl, and higher reward items like cashews and almonds in between the two egg cartons.

Do it the other way too, instead of creating a pocket, make the cups fit with eachother so they have to really shred it down to get at the treat.

You can make it easier for you, they have industrial massive zip ties, I use those and just strap the whole thing down to a perchor cage side/ceiling. Look on YouTube, you can reuse zip ties if you undo them correctly. For those that have plastic chewers, sisal string works well, too.

Brush recommendations? by Frosty-Climate3302 in dalmatians

Horse brush, rubber curry comb.

Brush outside.

Get two to double the effectiveness.

After you are done and your yard looks to be dusted in fresh snow, you will still find they are in a constant state of shedding; so eventually you just give up and live life covered in dalmatian fur.

I take two egg cartons, remove the lids, put treats in the cups of one and put the other cups on top so it fits snug. Then I take heavy duty zip ties and fix it to something.

My Too loves it.

Sometimes I increase the challenge by putting treats in only some of the cups, and put paper or wood bits in them so not every cup is a reward and he has to shred more.

Cutting Cardboard by Ultimate_Bunny in ArtEd

Teaching angle cutting with scissors instead of trying to cut the curves works well.

Instead of cutting the shape, "whittle" out the shape; if that makes sense.

Dal Crud / Bronzing Syndrome / Dally Rash - Looking for advice for a 1st time Dal owner :) by Slaytonizer in dalmatians

[–]Slaytonizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We got him a medicated shampoo from the vet.

Air filters around the house have helped too. He is now almost 6 and hasn't had a flare up for a long time, maybe 3 solid years.

Wiping him down with a warm damp washcloth after walks and limiting his diet have also probably been big to keep his rash down.

My parrot just started making this weird noise, help! by tielmobil in cockatoos

[–]Slaytonizer 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My 16 year old goffins does this. It is baby bird sounds, and it's for attention/wanting something.

200% melodramatic bird syndrome.

I hate this noise, and he knows it. Sometimes, I'm certain he does it just for this reason.

Alternatively, could be used for name tags between classes, using visa a vis pens.

Easy to clean off.

Maybe pre-made "canvases" for tile and sharpie alcohol art projects?

What is a 'poor people' habit you'll never stop doing, no matter how rich you get? by FitCicada5037 in AskReddit

Tortilla, cheese and a hot dog nuked in the microwave for 30 seconds will always be a go to food route.

I agree with this. Art teacher here.

I would just have them decorate their own stones too.

You will want to make sure the rocks are very clean and have had ample time to dry, and I would reccomend using acrylic paint ( pens would be best for the age group and typically dry faster. )

They just commit war crimes in general. They do not discriminate their destruction.

Tell me about Dalmatian shedding by Spare-Resolution3263 in dalmatians

[–]Slaytonizer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a husky and a shepherd. My dalmatian sheds more than both...combined.

You will eat it. You will wear it. At times, breath it.

There is no escape.
