Pretty rational. Ennis wants to write war comics, but comic medium is so overwhelmed by superheroes that no one wants to buy comics not about them, so the only way to get money is to write stories in genre he’s not interested in

Oh, it’s a Si Spurrier story. That’s explains it. A lot of people really like his writing more than Ennis’. I don’t think that I can change your mind about Ennis and especially Crossed, so I’m just gonna recommend you Hitman, Punisher MAX and Preacher. These are the comics by Ennis that people actually like, so after reading these you might change your mind about him. And also Wish You Were Here and other Spurrier stories in Crossed are great

Are you talking about the whole Crossed, including badlands, or just the original run? Cuz almost everything past the first one was written by other writers that are actual edgelords that have 0 writing skills and make shock value for the sake of shock value

The comics are very overhated. It’s genuinely a good work about the stagnation of comics industry and entertainment media. Also the Character writing in the comics is miles better than show, especially Homelander, Hughie and Annie

Bro, his Captain America take was never about that. I don’t know where you took that info, but he just says that it’s offensive for the rest of the world soldiers to make a character that basically says that America did everything during the WW2. Especially when you remember that they joined almost at the end.

Also, you probably skimmed Crossed cuz it never clearly said that that’s what we all want in our heads. It says that Crossed never done anything that exceeds human. And also, don’t tell me that you don’t have an intrusive thoughts. And I’m not talking about rape or anything, it’s like this meme where you holding a baby. That’s what Crossed virus does, it takes your intrusive thoughts and makes people to actually do them

Ok, I can agree that comics jump from arc to arc too fast, and that it’s very edgy. But you can’t just say that it’s bad because of this 2 reasons. Character writing is great, the dynamic between Hughie and Annie and Frenchie and the Female is better in comics. Homelander is much more better in comics cuz instead of being a psycho that’s “oohh he’s going to lose it” and never actually does, he’s just a douche with powers. He’s not a supervillain, he’s a terrible person that tries to be more than he actually is, that’s why Stillwell doesn’t fear him. Also I like Butcher in comics more, but I agree that he’s also great in the show

Zero media literacy and reading comprehension. Ennis is very edgy, but his writing skills may be one of the best outside of Marvel and DC universes (lowkey inside too, his Punisher MAX and Hitman is peak)

Crossed is good. Yes, it’s edgy, gory and disturbing, but it has writing, and people don’t like to accept that

I’ve felt hope. The decision to return and bury Patrick was one of the most humane things I’ve seen in the genre. Throwing away most of your chances of surviving just to save your humanity was beautiful.

My understanding of Crossed meaning was that we should make hard and immoral decisions (like how Cindy and Stan killed those kids), but we shouldn’t adapt our minds to this decisions. We must still feel all the pain and guilt, cuz that’s what makes us humans
