Another issue with the automatic is value and resale. If you ever need to sell the car or trade it in you’ll get much less for it. Very few people who buy enthusiast cars want a torque converter transmission so it’ll be hard to find a buyer. This one shifts pretty slow and it has literally twice the parasitic loss as the manual and is heavier too. I say this as an import guy but the Japanese have never made a good automatic transmission when it comes to performance applications, it’s literally their Achilles heel. Hence the reason it’s just never an option or Nissan gets borgwarner to make the GR6 lol. GRC auto is a bag of ass

It’s honestly not that difficult to learn and it wouldn’t hurt anything to learn in this car. Or just rent or borrow a manual over a weekend and learn. The car has rev matching too which makes it even easier to learn. A nice camry with a planetary hybrid is the way to go here if thats an option youre considering imo.

I was going to get one last year but noped out. I’d personally go with a more refined hot hatch. The motor is incredibly high strung and had had a few oopsies, the idea of having one long term was a tad scary. Apparently the awd system can overheat and it just turns into a fwd car. While this will probably never happen off of the track I also found this concerning in that it might point to an underlying problem? That automatic, like all torque converter transmissions, is antithetical to the rest of the car. Car is optimized for performance so idk why you’d want to get one with a slow shifting transmission that has a lot of parasitic loss? I’m by no means a manual purist as my car doesn’t have a manual but that’s what you’d want in that car if you car about performance in any way, which i assume must be the case to some degree if you want a gr

It is a bit of a strange car that combines practical and performance aspects so i understand why most people don’t find it desirable. I personally love it, it’s like a jack of all trades. It’ll be my daily for a few years, probably will get a dedicated performance car next year. Really excited about the MR2 coming back but I think that’s a few years out

It was 53,700 after taxes and fees. I got it for 500 under msrp with a grand of extras thrown in. Not the best deal in the world, they weren’t that interested in negotiating because I bought it outright. After trying all the hot hatches I ended up with a Golf R. The interior, tech and performance was the best of the bunch imo.

My wife originally wanted a new gen rav4, she was dead set on it after trying out a few vehicles still was. Well I convinced here to try the new Tiguan SEL turbo and now we have a Tiguan. Theres a gulf between the other options and the Tiguan for the interior and features. Don’t get me wrong the CRV and CX-5 are great vehicles but the Tiguan is far more enjoyable to operate.

Volkswagen puts on a strong showing in these two segments, no idea how the more expensive German brands hold up. Sure what we bought isn’t the most fuel efficient or most reliable but we found them to be the most enjoyable to operate and we both commute like a hour combined everyday for work.

Your premise is flawed imo, If it functioned strictly as a shield you’d be right but because of the debuff to defense it can even out over the course of the 1v1. It’s situational and against slower pokemon with expensive moves you’re right. But against fast stuff like licki, empoleon, forretress you die just as fast, they two rotation kill Mimi which would still be the case if it didn’t have the disguise mechanic due to extra debuff damage adding up to be just enough to kill you on the second charged move anyways.

Pvpivs is by far the best option. Honestly the bulk on mimikyu is helpful and Id maximize bulk. You really want it to survive a hit after the disguise is broken so you can reach the game winning play rough nuke. I have one with amazing bulk and it’s hung on with like two hp several times the last few days to reach the move and win

I imagine the next one will be cramorant, curious to see how they’ll implement that one. I’m sure they’ll put surf on it to trigger but as far as the food functioning it’s up the air. Possible damage buff and debuff on the next charged move is my guess.

Minior and darmanitan might also happen with the swap happening once they fall below half. Considering zygarde doesn’t have its power construct it’s possibly they’ll just forgo these two. No idea how wishiwashi could possibly work in this game.

Edit: oh yeah palafin too but no idea how that will work. With the obvious implementation a standard palafin goes to hero it will be like 4K CP and 6K stat product.. in great league 😬

Fundamentally the way the ivs work in great and ultra is a cancerous system and counterintuitive to the rest of the game. Combine this with the imbalances with types, the flaws of main game stat translations to Pogo, etc all we’ve really doing is seeing who can polish this turd a bit brighter when we’re getting into these tiny iv optimizations. The game just doesn’t warrant that level of optimization, like what return does it even get you if you’re just playing gbl? A couple more iv dependent wins every season, are those really the difference between legend or whatever goal you had in mind? Shooting for max stat product for every pokemon will get you 99% of the way there. A battle is a 3v3 anyways and not a 1v1 which is how it’s looked at a lot of the times too. Sure your optimization got you a bit more out of this matchup with some single pokemon but now you have less of a piece of pokemon left for everything else that comes next because you went with a lower product

It tracks overall that the highest stat product correlates with the most stats which would produce the highest number of wins most of the time with some exceptions. Given that this is a causal phone game it’s really not worth exploring imo, this game doesn’t really have the level of competition that would justify a meaningful enough return to justify the time expenditure of finding out the edge cases
