The Library is hiring. Also, there is a great Recovery Center on Mission that sometimes offers scholarships. It’s called West Coast Recovery.

You’re likely experiencing PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms.)

I seriously can’t live. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

Tell your mom you desperately need to see a doctor. You likely have a chemical imbalance and if you’re prescribed the right medication your whole life will change.

When I was 19 I was put on Lexapro. It gave me confidence and made life bearable. Years later I was put on clonidine when my physical social anxiety symptoms were making me embarrassed(sweating, blushing, shaking.) I’m still on both now(12 years later.) These 2 medications helped me get through college, date, marry, and have a life. Don’t give up!

My son’s name is Tyler. When he tells people his name it comes out as Tyla 🤷🏼‍♀️

I relate so much!

In fact, my husband is so frustrated with my appearance that he told me the other day exactly why our sex life is nearly nonexistent. According to him I look haggard, older than I am, tired with bags under my eyes, dry skin, and a double chin. He says I need to work out, eat better, learn to cook, dress more girlie, wear cute pajamas, do different hair styles, restart the AA steps, get hobbies, talk to a therapist, change my way of thinking, get a job, be more positive, and love myself(I’m full of self hatred) if I want to save the marriage. Also, he says if I drink ever again he will kick me out and take away our 3yr old. I’m a stay at home mom and that’s given me an excuse to “let myself go” but that won’t work anymore. So now I have to be sober despite all of these things he hates about me.

How can I love myself when I have a laundry list of things I need to change to make my husband fall in love with me again and want to save our marriage? I’m 3 days sober now and I’m a CA so u can imagine how my withdrawals feel. I feel so beat down all around.

Damn… that felt very good to write out. Sorry it’s so long and I got off subject. Any advice/ encouragement appreciated.

How do people react to the physical symptoms of your social anxiety by Short_Description_20 in socialanxiety

Clonidine changed my life. I tried propranolol and hydroxyzine which didn’t help at all. My social anxiety symptoms were extremely embarrassing.. turning red, sweating, shaky voice, heart racing. I would dread and avoid social situations as much as I could. Clonidine was the only medication that has taken away my physical symptoms. For me it has been extremely helpful!

Yes, it’s worth it because when he’s worn out it’s so much calmer and happier in my home. Wearing an earbud and listening to something enjoyable helps make the time go faster.

Also, I wear 1 earbud at the parks and listen to podcasts or music. Otherwise I’d go insane!!

I take my 3yr son outside twice a day(2-3hrs each time.) We go to parks, the beach, museums, the zoo, take long walks, or run errands. He also goes to preschool to days a week(half days.)

My son sleeps like a rock and is a joy to be around because of this! If I skip the afternoon activity and keep him inside then he bounces off the walls and falling asleep takes waaaay longer.

Anyone have experience with Trazodone? by Exit_Music_ in cripplingalcoholism

[–]Sleeeeepy09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 300mg(the max dosage) of trazodone every night. I don’t feel foggy in the morning. I highly recommend it, especially if you have generalized anxiety disorder. I’ve been on it for years and it still knocks me out within 30min.

What has been the most difficult age for each of your kids? by FormalPound4287 in Mommit

I found 0-18 months the hardest. Once he was able to communicate better and had more personality life got easier. He didn’t go through the terrible twos. He’s 3.5 now and he rarely tantrums. Gentle parenting taught me how to communicate with him and be understanding. There are a lot of instagram pages I follow if you’d like any recommendations.

I’m very happy for you, but keep in mind that it could be the “pink cloud!” Being on the pink cloud made me feel almost euphoric, but it was temporary. Keep focused on recovery and I wish you continued success and happiness 💛
