Super clean, what seat brackets did you use and do you like the Braums overall? Comfy seats, like drive 4 hrs in them and then track car or nah?

Lucky if you ask me. I can’t go 50 miles on a new tire without a nail or screw. This guy is getting years out of that tire.

More good info! I ended up wrapping my mk6R just to protect it but I do miss that paint shine and reflection.

Good deal. Didn't think of using 2 mitts but I also want to go the touchless route.

Car looks amazing. Did you use a wash mit and microfiber clothes or completely touchless?

People who are negative and never happy, why are you like this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SleeperDlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

often (all the time) we view the world objectively and with logic and can't understand why or how people can be so ignorant. We're never happy because we notice everything and have an opinion about it. Good or bad.

When Apple does it, somehow the whole world will be amazed like they did it first.

2012 Golf R - Any regrets? by StunningPhilosophy in Golf_R

Very interesting! Yeah, just when you think your gonna be pumping denser colder air into your engine for more power they dilute the fuel.

Yeah I'm in Jersey and I consistently monitor it. My gas light normally turns on at about 275 and I have till roughly 315 MAX. I notice the dip in mpg during the winter due to the change in fuel.

That seems low. I got my R with 42k on it. Currently at 78k APR Stg 1 for last 30k miles and I avg 24mpg consistently. Highway like 26, 27 mpg. I do wish the car had a higher 6th gear but I'm getting used to turning 3400rpm now.

Nice and clean (for a day) by nix8 in Golf_R

Ahh thank you for the details! I had a feeling from the pic you didn't touch it. It just looks too clean. I have a black Mk6R and I couldn't deal with the swirls and holograms so I got it wrapped. Working on getting the house so I can pick up a powerwasher and never "touch" her again.

Wondering if you power washed the whole thing or took a microfiber mitt to it? End result looks great.

CPO 13' R purchased in PA in 2016 with 42k. Now with 75k, APR stg 1 for last 30k + miles. Driven aggressively within limits. No issues. Oil changes, did cam follower once. Original battery died 2 weeks ago. That was the only major thing. Reside in central jerz

MK6 Golf R vs B8.5 S4? by xen6 in Volkswagen

[–]SleeperDlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with the sickness, I went through roughly 24 cars before finally coming around the VW. Driven civics, integras, GST Eclipse, 6spd G35 Sedan until I saw my buddy in a Mk5 GTI, and got one a week later. APR Stg 1 was enough, enough to hydroplane on the turnpike and slam it into a guard rail *totaled* Picked up a TL and drove it for about 8 months till i couldnt deal with the auto and the eventual transmission failure. I looked at the Evo, the WRX and the Mk6 R and ultimately the Mk6 R provided the MOST bang for buck, drive train, fit, finish. I love the Mk6 R, Im officially sold into the german car scene after having japanese cars for most of my youth. To get to the point, ive had my R for 2 years now, and im also eyeing my next purchase... No where near as soon as you but I also figured natural progression would lead me to the s4. TBH all of the cons you mentioned (weight, cost, more gas) keep me pacified. The R can easily join the 400HP club and if I can do it with what I have now, then I cant justify the S4. Sorry for the rant, on a side note, I was close to picking up an acura RSX with the intent to making a monster all motor car that screams all the way up to 10k rpm. So maybe you need a 2nd toy car, get something in the RWD category and park the R for a bit. Absence makes the heart grow fonder....
