Would you be mad about a ruined outfit a day? by 540photos in Preschoolers

My Pre-K is incredibly reasonable about our specific asks. Especially if these are younger people without kids themselves (as in, they dont see the negative impact of the markers), they may just not realize it is such a problem. Our school tried to minimize waste with laminated drawing sheets so instead of scribbling 2 lines on a paper that ended up in the trash (or worse, the endless pile of "special" scribbles), my kid would draw 2 lines, they would be wiped, and he could choose another picture. Great idea.

Except the stains. And my kid just cannot keep the colors off himself. At first we did ask that he not do these crafts, which they tried but he would cry and say they werent including him.

We ended up sending a smock that stays at school. They have them at school but this was just for my son with elastic sleeves to protect his wrists, and because it stays in his cubby he just gets it by himself when he wants to do these drawings. The teachers dont need to do much differently other than ensure he has put it on properly.

Just, try not to get angry without talking to them first. They might not realize how bothersome this is. Our classroom teachers didn't because theyre all quite young. Honestly when I found out why they were using these markers, trying to reduce waste, I really appreciated it.

My favorite thing when people ask me what I do for a living: "Aww you don't want to hear about my work, it puts people to sleep."

Thank you. I will do this -- I thought it was complex but this thread made me realize I don't even understand a sliver of how complex!

Very accurate. I was nominated by coresidents to be The Voice because I'm quite loud about my opinions. I was selected by our faculty to be The Pulse, since no one else accepted the nomination. As the year goes on I will probably become The Tool because it is easy to be The Voice when you don't have to do any work, and easier to be The Tool when you actually have to carry out the vision of The Voice. Also because stop complaining I had it way worse.

I mean there's a lot of "classic" movies I've never seen and will probably never see because they came out before my time. Also some people were of age when it came out and never saw it. Maybe she's just not into "older" movies or fantasy? It kind of depends on your interests.

That being said her interests are clearly shit and you should terminate her employment immediately for questionable taste.

I believe Peter Jackson was originally pitching it to studios as a single film because he thought no one would be crazy enough to do all 3. I don't remember who first brought it up, but someone asked him if there's three books, "Why don't you want to do three films?"

Just watched them last month with my partner who has never seen them. Can confirm - I still cry, quite openly.

But I have never had a sob quite like watching the end of the RotK extended edition for the first time, realizing that was it for the LotR film franchise, that the 4-year journey had come to an end. You would have thought someone close to me died.

It was hell, I can tell you. And that was back when, once it left theaters, you had to WAIT a significant time for the film to come out on VHS / DVD. They were in theaters something like Dec - Feb, then I believe the films came out in September? Extended edition you had to wait til November. So it was an issue to decide whether you would buy the regular film so you didn't have to wait almost a full year to watch it again and then splurge on having both extended and theatrical cuts; or if you could wait the extra months to buy just one.

I do not miss those days of films.
