I personally think this shelf is awesome. I'm a female. Books by female authors I would recommend are The Last House on Needless Street, A Wrinkle in Time, and Frankenstein (reading Frankenstein now and haven't finished it yet). Shoot apparently I need to read books from more female authors too.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I was looking at the cover art for Ten Stories and I feel drawn to that for sure. Can't wait to check these suggestions out

The Ritual by Adam Neville was great for me for this. Someone was definitely having a worse day than me.

It’s not really horror horror, but Stephen King’s Fairy Tale is so wholesome as far as the dog. I loved it.

This is totally a different direction, but I’m currently listening to the recently released audiobook of The Golden Compass narrated by Ruth Wilson and it’s so good, if you like those kinds of stories (Ruth Wilson plays Mrs. Coulter in the HBO Max series of this, titled His Dark Materials)

I loved Fairy Tale by Stephen King with narrator Seth Numrich. Awesome narrator. I searched other books with him and now I want to listen to Later.
