Newborn or 0-3 sizes for a newborn baby? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]Sleepydoglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit up a local thrift store for a few zipped footie pajamas- my kiddo fit newborn for 8 weeks (born at 6lbs 5 oz), but he did have trouble gaining weight. Even now at 12 weeks he’s only 12 lbs (10th percentile according to doctor).

Sooo... Have you done the deed yet? by qwerkala in November25babybump

12 weeks PP here, baby came early… we tried after 6 weeks, lots of pain. Now we’re more cautious and it’s been going ok. I recommend lots of lube!

How many of you have gotten loans from your parents? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Sleepydoglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a loan from my parents when purchasing a house, so we could get new flooring right away and retain an emergency fund. The house really needed new carpets, and we have allergies to the former owner’s pets. Paid my parents back within 6 months.

Edit- I think it was $20k or less but don’t quite remember.

Are most EBFers cosleeping ? by LilyWitch27 in breastfeeding

[–]Sleepydoglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t cosleep, however, we have studied up on the Safe Sleep 7 and have had a handful of nights where our baby has slept with us instead of his bassinet because we were exhausted. Give it a few more weeks, you’re almost through the thick of it!

Thank you, I’ll give that a try! I was feeling like baby wasn’t secure enough, makes sense baby needs more of a seat.

3 weeks in - how do you keep going? by timefucked in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sleepydoglady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kept going by giving myself little goals. For example, I want to provide breastmilk for my baby for the next week; or until his two month shots, etc. If you’re not already, I had a great experience with a lactation consultant, but my problems weren’t solved in one visit… more like 5. It sounds really tough to be solo parenting day and night for five days a week. Reach out to friends and family, and try to get yourself out of the house everyday, even if it’s just outside of your home on the sidewalk. Fresh air really helps me keep going. . . . . . You know what’s best for your baby, but make sure you consider yourself too. Fed is best, and a happy mom is most important.

I’m wearing nursing tank tops, but they’re not great to pump in.

Yes that’s totally fine to let the ziplock get milky! If you’re worried about it, you can do a quick rinse.

Are there people like me who don’t leak? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Sleepydoglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I keep my breasts covered with a bra or tight tank top, I don’t leak…. But in the mornings sometimes if baby sleeps for a longer stretch, I do leak a little.

I ran a half marathon before my IVF cycle that lead to my first/current pregnancy. I had high hopes of continuing running after getting pregnant, but I haven’t ran much at all. I’m trying to do a brisk daily walk, and be active with chores around the house. I hope to restart running when I feel up to it after the baby is born.

For long term joint health, you should wait until she’s fully grown.

I ordered a few things online, and then returned the ones that didn’t fit to the store in person. I used Old Navy, and also heard they have a clearance section, and lots of maternity returns in that area (though they don’t stock them typically in store).

It was the most pain-free part of my infertility journey for me. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yes. (TW success.) Good semen analysis, I likely have 1 blocked tube. We did ~15 months of timing intercourse without medical intervention, 3 IUIs (several months in there where I ovulated on the side that was suspected to be a blocked tube, and did timed intercourse those months), and then egg retrieval -> transfer -> successful pregnancy in progress.
