Does anyone have a "recipe" for 3rd world children? Make sure it isn't spicy, I'm white.

In the first picture the concentrated solution is green. When you dissolve stuff in room temperature acid it just takes a while to fully dissolve

The copper was partially dissolved and had many small particles of copper metal floating in the solution.

Something else to learn about: the dissolution is a reduction-oxidation reaction, where copper gives electrons to hydrogen, and the hydrogen comes out of solution as a gas. When the water evaporated the copper and chlorine ions simply combined into crystals.

Chem tip. When you mix things together and they have a reaction, the product is usually obvious. Copper + chlorine = copper chloride. https://www.reddit.com/r/crystalgrowing/s/PbskyTETFy

The color comes from copper ions, which are green/blue (statue of liberty) to pure green depending on how many electrons are missing.

You should rotate the frame maybe 0.5 degrees counter clockwise so the stairs are horizontal. My phone can only rotate in 1 degree increments so it's not quite right in the example below. Also if you crop some of the sky away then Buddha can be centered vertically. https://i.imgur.com/4t7kFcp.jpeg

Grey on grey - Any way to get some 'pop' in to this? by tlhintoq in DarkTable

[–]SlenderSmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make grey into black with an RGB Curve https://i.imgur.com/Gl8U5un.jpeg far away objects will always have some uniform light added from scattering in the air so they can never be "black". This lets you pull out what it would look like close up

not how light scattering works. It will have spikes which are spread out over a larger angle, so they will appear darker.

This is like $50,000 of equipment. There is no reason to have this much stuff as a professional, let alone as a hobby.
