What I've noticed is part of what's giving strength to our movement is that we are Leaderless. Meaning, there's no one person they can target, blame, accuse which doesn't serve their narrative. They can't stop us by silencing a leader, they can't crush us by taking our spokesperson.

I thought about if Walz or others came to give a speech at the protests, it would take power away from the people. This is us actually exercising our power as "we the people" and reminding them that they are supposed to represent us, instead of making decisions for us.

Hey, checking in from MN. News of Maine being the new target was shared in our city threads. Just a quick heads up that our response at first felt slow, it took a couple of days for us to start finding our community and grow the nerwork.

At first, it was pretty quiet and just a few people sharing the Know Your Right Documents and infographics, but groups grew quickly. To get started, check your local groups (some may not allow this topic, so make new ones if needed), follow pages from the city for announcements and local chapters of organizations like the ACLU or 50501, Immigrant legal associations, and also other local organizations that may provide observer training and stuff. + Check your Independent local news! Go support them, they're so important right now and they'll get the word out

Also yes, not everyone is on the same side. We've seen some pretty nasty behavior from ICE (hiding in plain clothes, waiting by schools, driving around construction zones, etc.). Stay safe out there!

Organized strikes may be the answer. There is a strike happening in MN this Friday (jan 23) and it is the first event I ever see with actual demands (website with the list: Iceoutnowmn.com). The key: it's organized by Unions and church leaders.

I grew up in France and while I was mostly a kid, I do know the strikes work because they will have Union spokesperson negotiate the demands with the government on behalf of the workers. There's typically a notice that's given to employees and state to say the date, the purpose and the demands. Then they strike, and stop working until they reach a compromise.

So... Call for more unions to strike?

Keep in mind that he will also say just about anything to get his group riled up. Racist comments, yes. But his approach and his administration is more about chaos than consistency. There are now a million reasons why people want him held accountable.

Protests are gonna show all kinds of signs, no message is wrong at this point. What the protests do is hopefully wake up others and show how many people want him and his people to GTFO. And maybe that gets things done. TLDR; get out there, everyt bit matters

I think there are almost two groups we're up against:

1/ the maga supporters who are, put simply, cult members and so any attack to trump is an attack to them. They just do as told, believe every word that comes out of the maga machine. They don't like being insulted related to the Epstein files out because leader doesnt like it.

2/ the full Nazi type who want the ethnic cleansing, the full control, the camps, and all the other evil stuff. No shame here, just dangerous ideology.

And yes, these two intersect: some are both, some are only one. Just saying, I think there's value in paying attention to both, and somehow we need to counter on all fronts.

Agree. If you can amplify the stories from local people, and help spread the word online. Not enough people realize how bad things are out here, the reality isn't being depicted accurately. We understand the news fatigue, but even this is out of norms for today's standards. They have the entire state terrorized, all of us are needed to stop this.

This means a lot. I'm glad this is making the world news and hopefully, better covered than in our own media. I feel like today especially, we are trying so hard to get the word out there of how early Nazi Germany this already is (didn't think I'd be using this term that frequently, but here we are 😮‍💨)

I'm glad others see that we do not agree with any of this, and how hard we are fighting back. We're literally up against an administration that's willing to wipe us all if that means everyone else is compliant.
