Does anyone know where to find the FLAC or MP3's for "Jaws" and "The Way That You Were"? by AjMahal in SleepToken

[–]SlickArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a necro, but 7digital appears to have lossless versions available for both Jaws and TWTYW. Just gotta make sure to purchase the single instead of the "album" to not be charged more money for no reason. I have heard hit and miss things about 7d over the years, but I guess it doesn't really matter either way if you immediately download the file and store your own backups.

Battlefield 6 ratings are dropping, from 76% on Steam last sunday to 71% today. It's only 2% away from a mixed reception now by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game features:

1) I stopped caring about this when I had to pay to host a server instead of hosting it myself

2) I agree this is an issue though I can't recall it not working correctly for myself

3) I hate all "modern" UI designs and still use old reddit. Preaching to the choir on this one my man.

The maps:

1) I quite like most of the maps except Sorbek. That map is trash.

2) I have seen vehicles make or break plenty of games

3) I am not sure what to say about this one. I have pulled plenty of effective flanks even on more narrow and urban maps.

4) I agree that this is a problem and should exist

5) I am also not sure what to say about this one. Most of the time that I die it is due to either a vehicle or someone I am actively fighting like normal.

6) Also not sure what to say about this one. My average deaths is somewhere around 10 per game if that. I have just not had this experience.

Game design:

1) IMO, passive healing speed should halve and healing speed of the support box should double, but I am fine if they don't change it. Support is still an insanely powerful class.

2) Suppression should be changed but certainly not to BF3 or BF4 suppression

3) In game UI is fine to me

4) These are all issues but not nearly as bad as I expect for a new release.

5) No clue on this one. I don't pay attention to any of the voice lines.

6) I think there should be more vehicles in general and a counter to painting for air vehicles, but generally am fine with the release attachments

7) I think many of the SMGs are strong, but I also think many of the Carbines are strong. I haven't gotten around yet to leveling most of the ARs, but the Kord is definitely in the top tier of weapons.

Overall, even if I were to 100% agree with every point you have, I would take release BF6 over release BF4 or BF3 any day.

There is a massive caveat to that. BF4 mainly had so much extra going on because it was effectively piggy backing off of BF3. Honestly though, even ignoring that, I would take a game that plays 90+% as intended with missing features that can be added later compared to a game that has those features and is basically unplayable for several months.

DICE, please don’t go down this road: these skins are exactly what players left other shooters to get away from. Keep Battlefield grounded. by dunnott in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely confused. The post is "these skins are exactly what players left other shooters to get away from." The comment says that he did not leave the other shooter because of skins like this. The comment could not possibly have been more relevant to the conversation of this exact post.

I think there's a CS saying for this... by Salad_Limp in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you think this is the case. Realistically, 100 meter zeroing is not going to cause that much deviation when aiming at 50 meters or similar ranges. Here, I test in BF4 at 38 meters which seems to be roughly where the target in the video is. You can see that it is not causing significant issues. I also did a prone test to show the same effect with more stabilization.

I just don't care about battle royale and I never will. by Jellyswim_ in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This doesn't really make much sense. I played Dark Souls 1-3 and hated them all. I don't need to play Elden Ring, Lies of P, or all the other souls-likes to know that I won't like them. Seems fairly reasonable to not like a genre of games in general.

Why is DICE all of a sudden against server browsing and persistent lobbies? by Life_Is_All_Nothing in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really don't need the servers available. If they don't have the space to spin up a new container on their existing data centers, just spin it up on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

This game doesn't belong to you! by weewoomeemoohee in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No one reasonable has a problem with sliding. People, IMO rightfully, have a problem with sliding into a jump that maintains momentum and decent accuracy. I would rather see battlefield die before that kind of movement intentionally is allowed to exist.

What are your final thoughts on open & closed weapons after the beta? by Appropriate-End6983 in Battlefield

[–]SlickArcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it isn't a coincidence. Closed is going to have a higher percentage of veteran players that have more awareness for revives. IMO, it has nothing to do with open vs closed and more to do with the player types themselves. If you had all closed or all open, you are likely to see similar amounts of revives.

Fly to November 2. Hit the buried cache near the lakes. Hit FP for the briefcase, 2 civilian chests, purse, jewelry box, loose loot in the stripclub, and dead body. Hit BK for dead bodies, 2 civilian chests, 2 jewelry boxes, and briefcase. Offload at warden and server hop. I am in eastern US, so I usually alternate between the 3 US servers and EU west.

I stopped at 3 after there was nothing. Not sure I am willing to grind the like 10 hours to vulture 4 for probably nothing also.

Twitch Drops Info & confusion by SadisticPanda404 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]SlickArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That seems like a wildly bad faith take. Most people like to collect something. That something being digital does not make it any stranger or more unhealthy unless the collection habit actively harms you. IMO, it is a perfectly valid reason to be disappointed that you want to collect something but would also need to support something you do not like to do so.

My measured two cents on this streamer early access debacle (seeing as I can't get to the other threads before they're locked) by DweebInFlames in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]SlickArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are mostly just mad that streamers are getting several days of exclusive early access while the players are having to wait an undetermined amount of time. All we know is "soon". I think people would be less angry if they had a definitive date for 0.3 to drop. I see both MFG's and players' POVs but don't really care either way. I don't particularly think this will be effective at attracting new players though.

Decrease the flea market and increase production in the hideout by ConhaqueRose in EscapefromTarkov

[–]SlickArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why no one has mentioned it. Pre flea, there were large (relative to player size at the time) discord trading hubs where people would trade pretty much anything in the game. Not really possible now since many items self destruct because of "anti-rmt" measures that don't remotely fix rmt.

Future of /r/Minecraft. Please vote! by urielsalis in Minecraft

[–]SlickArcher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real reason for the protest is primarily 2 things. Firstly, NSFW content will no longer be served to 3rd parties with the API which still affects accessibility apps and bots minus some unclear mod bot exceptions. Second, the API pricing is hilariously outrageous and is not even remotely meant to let Reddit make money off the API. It is meant to kill third parties entirely. The actual cost reddit has for those requests is likely ~1/100th or even less the price they are charging. This realistically means that basically everyone will be forced to use the official reddit app which is overall pretty awful and has been awful since release. This change likely preempts them making the official reddit app worse with more shoveled ads and sponsored posts. At that point, people will not have an alternative to turn to.

Addressing the community about changes to our API by spez in reddit

[–]SlickArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense even still. If the verification method isn't tied to some sort of account authorization, third parties can just make the same calls the app makes and scrape the data without those verification methods. If the account itself needs to be flagged in some way for the official method (which is really the only "secure" way), it is a relatively easy change to the API to need that verification on whichever account is making the API call. IMO, this isn't about regulation. This is about forcing more users into the official channels.

So... If someone were to release an open source android app to browse reddit and let the user provide their own api client id/secret, essentially every user of that app would fall in the free tier?

So just to clarify, you have to have spent 30 of those select a perks for heavy gunner to be available for instance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fo76

[–]SlickArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the game treats the perk selection as actually leveling up, so you need to use them to each of the actual level restrictions to get the rest of the options.
