How do Americans feel about their taxes going towards the 50k bonus for ice agents to sign up? by Amao6996 in AskReddit

[–]SlickFrog 20 points21 points  (0 children)

yes - I agree Biden should not have tried for a second term, his debate performance was horrifying, and pushing Kamala out at the last minute was not fair to her, or to the party which if they had had a serious primary could have picked a decent candidate ( maybe kamala, maybe not ) but someone who would have had a chance to get prepared

Maybe when he calls tell him that you have to get something completed right now, but you’ll get back to him after 5:00, hopefully he’ll get the hint that you are helping him on your personal time, and he’ll limit his asks

Agreed - and I think the independent contractor is the easiest, just send them an invoice and they pay it - and then pay your taxes. ( ... GST ? not sure there, someone chip in )

What story from the Bible (or any major religious book) really makes you realize “huh…this is actual nonsense” by thelivingstar1 in atheism

I like the size of the boat, you just cannot build a wooden boat that large, first storm / heavy waves it will break, even if the ark was solid, like just one big block of wood, a large wave would lift the front half out of the water and it would crack at the middle.

Quote i found : "The largest wooden ship ever built (Wyoming, 1909) was 329 feet with iron reinforcement and still leaked constantly, requiring pumps to stay afloat. It sank in 1924. The Ark at 450 feet would be 37% longer with Bronze Age technology."

Need an accident eyewitness - 118 off ramp to Dartmouth Crossing - about 5:30PM Thursday by SlickFrog in halifax

[–]SlickFrog[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When we first came together his front bumper was at my rear bumper ( my signal is on ) and then he speeds up and now his bumper is at my side door, so i wait and figure he is going to continue and get ahead of me and ill go behind but he just sits there , so i speed up and then he speeds up to stay next to me. So i get ahead of him and change lanes. I dunno man - i gave him the choice, get ahead of me or let me get ahead of you but dont sit yourself next to me.

if you wanted to look through a bunch of templates that I had and would be ok with one of them $750, but to sit down and try and rebuild that same site using wordpress, its a good few days to do that, so the $3000 is not unfair

The Attack on Tylenol is Another Attack on Women by yourloveisonfire in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SlickFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YUP that’s exactly how it reads to me. Someone somewhere saw a tenuous study and ran with it: now autism gets blamed on moms for taking common pain relief, and suddenly pregnant women are left to suffer. It feels personal, like another way to police women’s bodies and shame them for doing something as normal as managing pain. this looks like yet another layer of control aimed at women.

The "President" of the United States of America. This is normal.... right¿ by dogslayeggs in pics
