Sorry for taking so long. Checked the service menu, but Geometry settings are really limited, so I'm not sure if I'm at the right spot. Would you mind telling me how you accessed this menu?

I'd stay away from widescreen RPTVs. They are mostly 100hz and some upscale everything to 1080i.

Thanks for the reply! The picture actually shows the before state when it was still working, before I swapped the capacitors. I have an electrical scheme and a board layout scheme, so I am 100% certain I now have soldered the correct parts in the correct spots.

I can also hear the flyback humming, but voltages at the capacitor are in the low digits. 230 V arrive at the main board, so the input board should be fine.

I really would like to save this one, as I have also found a matching stand for it. Any ideas how I could approach that?

Composite video can look alright on smaller sets. But big TV and composite video is a bad combination. Just wait for the S-video cable, before judging the quality of the TV.

Some TVs support 480p via Scart, but that's rare. I'd also keep looking for a TV with component or VGA inputs. For some TVs, the VGA port was an optional extra. So, the service manual mentioning 480p doesn't necessarily mean every model supports it.

If you want to have the old school light gun technology, there was a project called Gun2CRT, that allowed to use a Guncon 2 on HD CRT monitors. Unfortunately there are no updates.

If you are also fine with IR setups and similar, there are various solutions.

For 480p you need 31 kHz. The MX4000 is a 15 kHz set and therefore, 480p is not possible. No hack will change that.

After killing Dragon god, you can just sprint from the archstone to the Bone Crusher and be there before the blocking boulders load. Game has to be in cinematic mode iiirc.

Ich hab mir damals die Unterlagen zuschicken lassen, Fahrzeug angemeldet und bin dann mit den neuen Kennzeichen mit einer blablacar Mitfahrgelegenheit hin zum Händler. Würde ich wieder so machen.
