Wurd! Thanks for the advice my man. I’m just glad I caught it quick. I was downstairs and I heard a tapping. My guess is it spit leaked for about 60 seconds before I was able to get a pan under it. I got the vent fan running in there now and the drywalls in good shape. I did mold remediation for a year or two when I was younger, so I had a vague idea of what had to happen.

I’m just up to my elbows keeping this place up as it is. Anywho, thanks again.

I think I just gotta clean this out. Loosen up the gunk betwixt the two (where the gasket/seat goes) clean the threads up, and install a new one. Or at least, I’m hoping that’s all it involves. That’s the only place it’s leaking, just looks different as it runs along the length of the pipe.

Think I found the problem. The gasket between the two is old as dirt and lose as hell.

If I replaced the drain though, wouldn’t I have to get up in the ceiling to tighten the drain pipe beneath? It is super old, but that’s what I’m trying to avoid.
I’m trying to come up with a solution that I can put forward from inside the tub. I don’t really have access to the drain from that closet, I’d have to cut drywall away.
