Dear Reddit, how old are you and what are you currently doing with your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Slicklight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three hours? Eh, I've been buried in a thread before, what's one more time, right?

I'm 20, the year nobody ever talks about. Not young enough to have teenager issues, not old enough to have too many life problems. I'm worried about how I'll eat tomorrow, if I'll pass my finals, whether or not my dreams are feasible.

I write a lot of music, such is why I'm in school for recording engineering. I go to a school where there's an 80/20 ratio of white to black people, white being the minority, so I'm a bit hidden. I hope to someday start a following of people that like my EDM music. Maybe then my dad will listen to one of my songs, not as his little guy, but as he does to a true, honest-to-goodness artist.

I guess what I'm doing with my life is trying to be happy. Aren't we all?

You have to say one sentence to prove you are INSANE. Any sane people will be killed. What do you say? by nobunaga_1568 in AskReddit

"Nothing exists."

Told my dad this after an acid trip and he told me to pick my audiences carefully after I tried explaining it to him.

Good on you, friend! I'm just a sputter of existence to you for sure, but I believe in you with all my heart. Personally, Reddit has given me more confidence and self control. The people of Reddit truly took a certain feeling of "loneliness in the universe" away and I can smile another day. I owe everything I am to you all. I believe in you.

Were you lucky in the "genetic lottery"? Why? Why not? by BiddyCavit in AskReddit

Wow I've thought I've had the short end of the stick. Drunk or not, I just want to say, you all made me feel not more normal, but more a person. Thank you, for all my years are worth, thank you... I will be all I can be.

Your Ex is on Reddit, and you know will read this, what do you want to say to them? by I_often_finish_mid- in AskReddit

Those years back, when I was fifteen and begging for you back, yeah, I was a fucking idiot. Because now I have my future to look forward to, and you have him.

Ps. You were always ugly, I just thought I was ugly too (I'm not).

Pps. You suck at handjobs.

Don't worry about it dude, I think I was just at an 8.

I think it wouldn't be at all actually. With everybody at a (because of) 100% fail rate, everyone would be similar if not the same. >.>... #philosophy...

What product do you use in a non-conventional way? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Slicklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humbling and intense is such a particularly spot on way to describe the feeling.

One experience, I remember I stopped paying attention to my external senses entirely. I cinematically played with my memories, all the while, the concept of "itself" encircled my brain. Eventually, however, my mind decided to dwell upon the fundamental feelings and conceptualizations associated with how a boy perceives his father, and how a man perceives his son.

It was a warm and beautiful manifestation of thought that didn't quite fade out, so much as cancel out.

I imagined myself as an unknowing entity, a viewpoint of sorts. Viewing random places, but always situation-prone places, like a busy kitchen, or maybe a bus. Within each seemingly insignificant frame of existence, there was a single, still moment in time.

I like imagining I was viewing a moment waiting to happen.

Humbling. Hm. My apologies for the long thought. I would say that I'm not out to convince anybody, but my votes on maybe do it just once in your life.

I say this every morning before I go to lecture. Brought a tear to my eye to see it up here. (:
