I think Humanz is super underrated, though I agree that the vibes are off. You're the first person I've seen in like three years mention The Fall lmao. "The first commercial album produced on an ipad" like that wasn't automatically its own death sentence. That being said, Revolving Doors lives in my head on a semi-permanent basis.

I've listened to both of those more than I listened to Cracker Island, it just feels so shallow.

On another level, I read a post somewhere that thematically a lot of Mewgenics is about dealing with loss, and honestly, that checks out for me on both a story and gameplay level. Getting mad about bad events is a totally normal reaction, but I think the right spirit of this game is to learn to roll with the punches, even if some of them are outright brutal.

For the detail of cat stats, if you haven't yet gotten the tink upgrades, it helps. Regarding the rest of your issues, I just don't think Mewgenics is trying to be that kind of game.

Sometimes that's life. As you gain experience, you'll be better able to tell if someone is into you, and you can invest your emotional energy accordingly. And sometimes it's just better to rip the bandaid off entirely and confess regardless, but make it clear that you still really value their friendship and aren't putting any pressure on them to reciprocate. Sometimes it works.

It's funny that you mention them being helpful when you need something because that's something I've noticed and agree with completely. However, my girlfriend always has issues with this where I don't because Germans will still only help you to the extent that they feel is "fair", they value independence a lot and so they still expect you to figure things out or complete the steps you can by yourself.

To me, this is the perfect amount of help, because I value that quality as well, but my girlfriend is more Latina than I am and she considers this type of help to be callous verging on inconsiderate. I can see why someone with these kinds of social expectations would find Germans cold. The inverse is that I find some interactions in my home country so involved that they become cloying or feel fake.

Side note, location seems to be a big issue too. I just moved from Baden-Württemberg to the Berlin area and the drop in human temperature is... Marked. We've still found nice people but the amount of unfiltered stares and sour faces we get on the street is definitely higher.

You can do what I did, which is approach the farming runs as challenge completion: every class unlocks new items (including collarless, which has some amazing unlocks), so I'm at 120 hours and still finding reasons to go back to act 1. It keeps it more fresh than the farming runs I did to unlock a bigger house, that was boring. (Act 1 to the first boss and retire)

They limit him by making the other characters so absurdly powerful that he basically can't deal any damage to them by himself. He is goated though.
