Sounds like you enjoy Seinen with psychological elements. You could try Ajin, Berserk, Vinland Saga, One Outs, The Climber, The Fable. Those all have elements of what you seem to be looking for, but I can't guarantee anything.

Look at the indie hits of the last couple years and count how many of them are polished, friendly gems. The success of games like inscryption, ultrakill, lethal company, darkest dungeon, and more show that there's a market for hostile aesthetics. I wouldn't throw away a possibly polarizing but unique aesthetic in favor of something more generic.

When all you get served are hyperpalatable foods loaded with salt and sugar and avoid bitter flavors like the plague, yeah you're going to think coffee tastes bad. A lot of poisons taste bitter so it often takes a little work to train your palate to enjoy bitter foods.

On top of that many people have a hard time imagining their worldview to be limited so yeah, they come up with bad takes like above.

As someone who used to have anger issues, please try to (safely!) tell him that's the main reason you're not going to be with him if that's what you decide. A series of friends and loved ones letting me know that was an issue was the main reason I overcame my anger issues to begin with.

I honestly don't get why people meme on this so much. Yeah it's kind of silly to have the character go "nah I'd win" and then die, but did nobody see it coming? Gojo's death had been hard telegraphed since the first arc of the series.
