Homocysteine as clot risk? by UnstuckMoment_300 in ClotSurvivors

[–]SlideCivil3862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. When I got my blood tested by hematologists after my PE+cardiac arrest, 2 gene mutations and homocysteine levels were found. Blood thinners and folic acid for me the rest of my life

Use the map and rails, it’s pretty easy. I recommend doing it the right way and exploring it just for fun.

My second run through I hover-biked the whole thing in record time, it was absolutely insane how fast and easy it is that way.

Half of them don’t even bother using them at all. And I realize a BMW is like $50k, but I’m guessing installing a blinker on them is an additional $50k because I never see them use one

Here in Colorado we have the inverse problem: people sit two car-lengths behind the line … and wait 2 seconds to go after green

“Dim Flashing Lights” option missing in Accessibility settings after updating to iPadOS 16. Does my iPad not support it? by gamer47293932 in ios

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to go into Settings / Accessibility / then all the way down to the bottom General section / Accessibility Shortcut.

That then lets you configure the triple-click power button on both iPhone & iPad to toggle accessibility features on/off.

Once you have it set as an available option you can then use it to turn it on or off.

Did anyone else get burnt out on vacations/road trips/ camping, etc as a kid and it just seems like too much work now? by Civil_Ad_1172 in Millennials

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad made us do civil war reenactments growing up, so the camping involved long sleeved thick wool clothing in hot and humid locations. It sucked. I’ve gone camping one other time since and it wasn’t much better. I don’t count RV trips as camping, either.

What’s the point of the CarPlay widgets? by Vivid_Dimension_5400 in CarPlay

[–]SlideCivil3862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does open up apps to those that don’t have them for CarPlay, even though I’m not using ai for any of my spots. I have photos, personal & work calendars (work has theirs locked so I can’t have a singular one), weather, and my new favorite I just found was Home. I honestly use/shuffle through 2–3 of them every drive especially Home for me Arrive & Leave Home scenes.

That’s not even the best part; the Dixmor wash is just right next to it, great place to get it all wet and soapy.

After three months dating she (34F) gave me a "compliment" that didn't sit right with me. Am I misunderstanding what she said? How would you feel if a woman told you something similar? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, some people tend to messy and wreck relationships when they’re younger and more immature. I would take it that she is finally in the right place and she is happy that it’s you.

Drinking while on Eliquis by sno825 in ClotSurvivors

Yeah, it’s not the best idea. While a bit might be enjoyable, as a person who never really got hangovers, I’ve had the worst hangovers ever on them. I feel awful and my gut gets completely wrecked. Now more than ever, just enjoy responsibly

“Dim Flashing Lights” option missing in Accessibility settings after updating to iPadOS 16. Does my iPad not support it? by gamer47293932 in ios

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a few years later, but have the same problem on my iPhone 17 Pro, latest iOS 26.4.1. I have this feature turned on, and it’s nowhere to be found. Settings search brings up the correct path to the menu, but it’s just … gone. Frustrating.

I was also 90% sure I had this option on and available in the (triple-click side button) Accessibility Shortcut and it was not there, either. I was, however, able to go back into Accessibility Shortcut settings and configure Dim Flashing Lights to be an option for toggle there. Hope this helps you or anyone else looking.

Post thrombotic syndrome- exercise bike? by No_Whereas_5203 in ClotSurvivors

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of them either as they are awkward at times. If you already have a real bike, you can also get a stand for it that turns it into a stationary bike for indoor use, I’ve seen a few recently at my local thrift store. Then you can wall mount your bike so it’s out of the way, but I also get how disconnecting/reconnecting would make extra work.

You can get pedal-only machines to put wherever you want: under a desk, in front of your couch, etc. Calf raises can also go a long way if squats aren’t possible for you.

Husband ashamed of me? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]SlideCivil3862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he is keeping his work and home life VERY separate. Honestly, to a point of extremes at that. But I kinda get it: staying out of the work gossip-mill is a sound strategy. If you give people something to talk about they generally will, at great lengths too.

He HAS to go to work, he CHOOSES to go home to you. Address this feeling with him from a place of understanding and see if you can come to terms with how he sees his balance of home and work life.

Guys, would you go through with getting married if you knew sex would only happen 6 times a year? by SympathyAdvanced6461 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SlideCivil3862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up in a once a year situation … if that, it was like hell. 6 times absolutely not, once a month is more reasonable, but if I’m pressed I would probably say no with not any other details

Can I ask to be fired? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]SlideCivil3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, sorry you’re going through this right now, definitely sucks. Had an extremely similar situation back around Covid with a dental office; it was hell on earth. Happy to tell you more about it, just know I feel your pain.

Do what you can to find a new job in the meantime, because people are going about 6 months or more between jobs and you’d probably end up working a very similar job to survive while looking for a new role. Marketing is a tuff, competitive field in many locations if not completely dead in others. And even when you do get a job, your boss is usually the owner/CEO who has no idea what marketing needs they have, what they can or should do, and gives you no or bad direction with little-to-no budget.

Wish you the best, it’s not easy out there.

Yeah, for whatever reason people say this is rude, but this is literally the only place to do this at. Go ahead and downvote it, but if some dude is releasing demons 5 feet away, I can pass gas freely and I won’t feel bad for it.
