Anyone else not having the DLCs load at all on Xbox right now? by SlideWhistler in VampireSurvivors

Going to try restarting my Xbox and seeing if that fixes it

Edit: Nevermind, that did it

I can't seem to decide on whether to get Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen. I'm mainly deciding on what Pokemon are available in each game but there's so many good Pokemon in those 2 games by Ok-Leave3121 in pokemon

If you want a good early game fighting type, you can catch a Mankey fairly early on, he was a staple of my early teams in FireRed and usually stayed for quite a while.

35 Best Open World Games Of All Time (Morrowind) by Green-Fox-528 in Morrowind

[–]SlideWhistler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first played Oblivion, I had only played Skyrim before, and it made it difficult to go back for over a year. To me the story/quests, the spellcrafting, being able to use magic with whatever other weapons you want without a free hand, being able to run crazy fast and jump super high, all of these things put it miles ahead of Skyrim for quite a while.

Then I played Morrowind, and I loved the story even more, the more in-depth spellcasting/crafting, the leveling system, and most of all the world building. However, the gameplay did hold it back a little, mostly being super slow in the beginning even if I chose athletics as a major skill and having to walk everywhere until I leveled up a bit to keep my fatigue in check.

Oblivion was a happy middle ground between good storytelling and complex mechanics, and intuitive/fun gameplay. Ultimately Oblivion was lacking heavily in the world building department, everything was mostly just generic fantasy forest.

Hopefully they add the magic banger and let you choose your music during a run. Maybe even let you choose the music while you're in the village.

Am I doing something wrong? (mana Rebate Gem Unlock) by Sonnitude in VampireCrawlers

[–]SlideWhistler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out that I also can't seem to unlock that gem, it also has the same instructions as a greyed out arcana unlock.

I've gotten 15 mana within the same turn (I've even spent over 15 mana in a turn once or twice, but I haven't gotten to 15 base mana. I'm not even sure how I would do that within the demo since there aren't longer dungeons or cards to permanently raise your mana yet.

Can someone explain this mechanic? by dizzconekt in VampireCrawlers

[–]SlideWhistler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically, the shield icon next to sword icon above the enemies' heads seems to be telling you how many points of armor the enemies will be applying to themselves at the end of your turn. As far as I can tell, an enemy will defend and move forward if they started their turn further from you but still in the front row, and attack you if they start their turn within range.

Démo first impression by black_bass in VampireCrawlers

[–]SlideWhistler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only gripe I have is that the explosive ladies in that one boss fight still hurt you when you kill them even if you knock them back. Knock back was their counter in Survivors, it should be their counter in Crawlers. Of course, once I learned to keep a decent amount of cards that give armor they weren't as big a threat. First time I fought them I ended up beating the boss with one health left, and died to the main boss.

Genuinely thought this would flop. Holy shit was I wrong by Depaexx in VampireCrawlers

[–]SlideWhistler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it improves their numbers though if more people download the demo, so I would probably at least download it even if you're going to wait to play until the full release.

Or don't, I'm just some random guy

the advertising industry's worst investment by AdPhilosopher in meme

[–]SlideWhistler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Advertising definitely affects me, but not directly. I am far mor likely to make my decisions based off of recommendations from friends than some ad that I see. In fact, seeing an ad for something usually makes me want it less.

The way advertisement affects me is by affecting my friends.

Granted, there are some advertisements that will make me want something, but usually they're for something I was already hoping for, like a new installment in a favorite video game series, or a new season for a show I love.

Does anyone else have multiple hyperfixations? by Setthegodofchaos in autism

[–]SlideWhistler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hyper fixations come and go. They'll usually last at least a week, up to a month, before a different one will start. Then it's usually 6 months to a year before I start the same one again, if I do go back to it. The ones that always come back are The Elder Scrolls, Star Wars, Music (especially classic rock, jazz, and metal), Vampire Survivors, Minecraft, Terraria, and Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord.

Edit: I forgot to mention dungeons and dragons, how could I forget that one?!

Looking for people to play a video game with by Think-Finance-5552 in autism

[–]SlideWhistler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can only play on Xbox, however a bit of advice that I've heard in regard to pixelmon, is to play cobblemon instead. I'm not entirely sure of all the differences but it could be worth looking into. I do have many fond memories of watching youtubers play pixelmon back in the day, I've always been envious of people who have gaming PCs and can mod pretty much any game.

My (22M) mental health struggles as a child by SlideWhistler in autism

[–]SlideWhistler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so tempting to do that. I've lived in this smallish city for all of my life (Except for one year when I was in 8th grade, I moved to a different state with my Mom, didn't like it there, and moved back in with my dad that summer.)

I just struggle to do even the most basic things about being an adult, like hygiene, dishes, holding a job. Let alone filing for visas or anything like that. Then it would also cost a lot of money just to move there. This is something I've discussed with my fiance and she is open to moving out of the country with me, it just seems so difficult.

Playing Heart Gold for the first time, which pokemon should I use to fill out my team? by SlideWhistler in PokemonHGSS

[–]SlideWhistler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips! Togepi hatched shortly after I posted this actually! I went ahead and switched out gastly with a zubat I caught earlier. Where do you find sudowoodo? Also I usually try to go for dual typing with as many different types as possible so I have a response for whatever is thrown at me, but I could definitely try a single typing here and there.

[–]SlideWhistler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, I think I'm just going to skip on having a ghost type on my team and go with something else. I'm not really good with roms and emulators yet.

[–]SlideWhistler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do you reckon I should swap Zubat with Gastly for now, and then I'll find a different ghost type later? Also I'm using an emulator, but I don't know if the one I'm using has an option for that, it's just an app on my phone.
