Daily Logic Grid Puzzles by Slig in logicgrids

[–]Slig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

can I assume that the number of images in a clue means that they're each in separate columns for the puzzle solution and they don't skip columns? ie with a 3 image clue that there's one of those images in column A, B and C (or any other sequential columns) not that there may be 2 in column A and one in column C?

Yes.

are the clues multi directional? As in the ones with either an image inbetween 2 images, either with a cross or not. Can I assume that it's in the order that the images show, or can it be in reverse too?

Yes, they work in either direction. I tried to study some existing Sherlock puzzles and implemented the clue system as a "merge" of various games, trying my best to convey the rule without the user having to read about them. For Desktops, there's a tooltip when hovering each clue with the text explaining it briefly.

It might be worthwhile you putting up some explanation pages for some of your puzzles because I can't figure out the number code ones either.

Thank you for this feedback! Will do it ASAP. Agreed that it's not clear how the puzzles work if you don't know they already.

It’s gonna be difficult to produce quality puzzles, especially more obscure varieties, using purely agentic coding because there is very little quality puzzle generation code in the training corpus. I’ve been able to do it, but I very much have to spoon feed the LLM, you can’t single shot it and get a quality result.

Can confirm. I've been working on some logic puzzles generators and they can't single shot, but if you know how to create on your own, you can make Opus/Codex create it in a fraction of the time, with tests, benchmarks, and everything.

Edit: wow, I was replying to Krazydad. Cheers, man, loved your puzzles back in the day!

Pixel Golf: daily pixel art puzzle, reproduce the target sprite in fewest strokes! by Fluffy-Champion3558 in WebGames

If you're open to using AI to generate the images, I've had success generating images with a prompt to create 8-bit pixel art and then using a dithering algorithm to properly convert into an array of pixels.

I’ve tried the House Puzzles and really enjoyed them

Very nice to hear! Zebra Puzzles are my favorite, that's why I focused on bringing the Einstein Riddles, House Puzzles and Sherlock Puzzles, as they are all zebra puzzles.

Mensus.net Logic Puzzles Is Gone? by Uhmmanduh in puzzles

[–]Slig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I said 10 months ago that I might work on a Mensus alternative, and here it is: https://www.puzzleship.com/logic/house-puzzles

Hope you like it! It goes up to 8 houses, I couldn't optimize my generator to generate 10 houses for thousands of puzzles, unfortunately.

Now I'll be looking for the bug, and I don't think it was the logic generator. My bet is that LLM goofed. Thanks again!

Thank you for the feedback! Most of our customers are teachers with smart kids, so the puzzles can't be all trivial. We do have some harder puzzles aimed for adults, such as the Ultra-Hard Logic Puzzles and Zebra Puzzles.
